Astralis beat SK; to ELEAGUE final

Astralis are the first team through to the grand final of ELEAGUE Season 2 after defeating SK Gaming on two maps (16-11 on Overpass and 16-12 on Train).

The series kicked off on Overpass, where SK Gaming got out to a quick 5-0 lead on the CT side. The half ended in a surprisingly close 8-7 scoreline, however, as Astralis picked up the pace as the game wore on.

The second half began with Astralis winning the pistol round even after losing a man early on thanks to great teamwork from Andreas "⁠Xyp9x⁠" Højsleth and Peter "⁠dupreeh⁠" Rasmussen in the canal. It was the start of a great run from the Danish team, who quickly hit 14 rounds. SK still strung three rounds together, but there simply was no stopping Astralis, who took the map 16-11.

Train was the map that followed, and it was a complete blowout despite being SK's pick. Astralis won the pistol round with a great retake inside B and followed it up with both anti-ecos to start off the game with a 3-0 lead. SK were on the verge of winning the first gun round but allowed Astralis to take it in a 3v4 situation thanks to a timely flank from Markus "⁠Kjaerbye⁠" Kjærbye.

Astralis move on to the final

SK called a timeout to discuss their strategy and halt Astralis' momentum, but nothing seemed to work for them. The Danish team remained in the driving seat and cruised to an 11-0 lead, with SK then finally picking up some rounds thanks to some shock and awe tactics.

But there was more misery coming SK's way as Astralis further added to their lead with a flawless A execute in the pistol round. With no room for error, SK invested everything in the following round, and the move paid off.

And that is when insanity began. Gabriel "⁠FalleN⁠" Toledo stepped up to the plate and powered SK to a fantastic run that saw them bring the deficit to just two rounds. It looked like this was SK's map to lose, but Astralis picked themselves up and won back-to-back rounds to seal an impressive 2-0 win and move on to the grand final in Atlanta.

Good job to SK but the Brazilians are not very friendly, if you are good job! But most of Brazilians are not friendly, they only support SK and talk shit about every other team. When SK loses to someone, Brazilians call them hackers. Congrats to SK, nobody hates SK, they just hate their fans.

Well done by Astralis, they are clearly working on anti stratting SK at their best maps, overpass and train. On IEM they almost win over SK at train with 16-14 but now they managed it.Kjaerbye slowly taking star player role on Astralis over device, splendid plays he made today. coldzera seems effected so much from 4 hour sleeping and we saw when he can't do anything SK starts to struggle so much. I hope we will see FaZe vs Astralis final, it will be fun to watch.

What a shit match. If the second semi final starts in the same way I'm certanly off early today. Sk had one of the worst performances I've ever seen from a top3 team in a long long time. Astralis was solid as a unit but they still did so many mistakes that any team with a glance of focus would've capitalized upon. Another tournament with a different winner incoming, this game is so random

Because no SK supporter ever says how bad the losing team was (when SK wins). Would you, for instance, say dignitas played bad against SK? Because the last few (deciding might I add) rounds dig played like silvers with ranks s aim.

Did you even bother to read the full text or? I called out both teams for being bad. I said this game was awful, I praise the teamwork on Astralis desite all their mistakes and I said SK had their worst performance. It baffles me that you find excuses in here tbh. And I did call out Dignitas for throwing away what would've been a deserved win.
