OpTic upset FaZe; to ELEAGUE final
OpTic have upset FaZe 2-0 (Train 16-3, Overpass 16-12) to advance to the ELEAGUE Season 2 grand final, where they'll meet Astralis tomorrow.
Håvard "rain" Nygaard kicked off Train in style, picking up a quad-kill in a 3v5 situation while retaking the B bombsite in the initial pistol round. OpTic then turned up the heat in the gunrounds with fast attacks, which earned them a 5-2 lead.
Fabien "kioShiMa" Fiey replied with a 1v3 clutch, killing two of the players while the remaining one had no time to plant the bomb, but FaZe's economy got reset in the following round.
The French player almost managed another big play in the next force, but he was denied another clutch by William "RUSH" Wierzba who ended up on just 3 HP at the end. From there on, the half was firmly in the hands of OpTic who powered through for a staggering 12-3 as Terrorists.
Once Tarik "tarik" Celik got a quad-kill in the second pistol round, there was little hope left for FaZe to come back. Finn "karrigan" Andersen's team attempted three forcebuys, all of which got denied as OpTic finished the map at a decisive 16-3.

The start to Overpass looked similarly dominating from OpTic, who got off to an amazing start after they picked up the pistol round on the A bombsite and got a read on FaZe's attack in the first gunround. Denying two more attacks towards B, the North American squad were in a 7-0 lead before FaZe finally found success on the same bombsite with a half-buy.
Aleksi "allu" Jalli then won a 1v1, which forced OpTic on a double eco. The European mixture's streak was stopped at five rounds, at which point Oscar "mixwell" Cañellas got a few opening kills while RUSH put up a double and a triple to end the half at 10-5 in their team's favor.
RUSH got another triple in the following pistol round, though FaZe managed a forcebuy victory to give themselves a chance in the match. With an aggressive setup towards fountain in the first full buyround, they lowered the deficit to just one round with a few ecos thrown in.
However, OpTic then put up two clean rounds and mixwell then came close to clutching a 1v3, dealing huge economy damage to FaZe in the process. As the North American squad won the next round, their opponents had to eco, and OpTic soon completed the upset at 16-12 after two close rounds.
