Main Qualifier round two match-ups

At the end of day one in Atlanta, ELEAGUE drew the match-ups for round two of the Swiss format.

With the first round of the Main Qualifier coming to a close, the sixteen teams were split in half into two pools, eight with one win and eight with one loss.

Teams with the same win-loss record will be facing each other in the second round, which will be played tomorrow in its entirety.

FaZe and OpTic to lock horns in the second round

Tomorrow's matches and provisional schedule are following:

OpTic v FaZe yet again haha if IMT chokes this qualifier yet again they should disband lmao, vega squadron in 2nd match Rough day for NA but the matchups are fair to be able to bounce back, Cloud9 should win, CLG sux rly hard but at least has a chance against RNG, OpTic should be favored against FaZe

ikr, a MAJOR qualifier and they put 2 teams from the same country against each other. also two of the "better" ones. not saying they are world-class, but either of those 2 deserves to play for example renegades much more than CLG do.

I think you misunderstand the word choke. When a team that on average is A LOT worse than their opposition loses the game it is not a choke, it is as expected. I see the <3 HR but get real, if HR wins vs NIP it will be solely cuz NIP choked hard.

But they are, they only have a chance if angel has one of his godlike games, but that happens at most 1/10 times. A choke is when the favorite team loses, only a huge HR fanboy can ever call them a favorite vs Nip. Realistically it's at least 80/20 if not 90/10 in NIPs favor.

And a choke in game is of course a team leading big losing that lead. A choke pre game is a heavy favorite not beating the underdog. So basically they pulled the strongest winners against each other and the weakest winners against each other. Some sort of seeding in that phase should have beeen used too. It should be so that 3-0'ers get continuosly thougher opponent. Now, for example, NiP/dignitas/Optic/FaZe get to play against Immortals, C9, Vega or TyLoo in 2-0 situation, which is completely stupid.
