ScreaM: Not happy with IMT matchup

With G2 eliminating the Brazilians and denying them a Major once again, both French teams have secured places for themselves in the Fox Theatre next week.

To hear about his matches against Dignitas and Immortals, we talked to Adil "⁠ScreaM⁠" Benrlitom - whose one tap late in the game switched the tides of the match.

In the first match of the day you played against dignitas and you had a chance to finish off the qualification there. You had a decent CT side, but after the switch you couldn't get anything rolling. Can you tell me what happened in the second half there?

We started really well on the CT, I think we lost one stupid round but overall it was good, we ended with nine rounds. Then we switched sides and on the pistol round RUBINO killed three guys and he should never be able to do that. We made all the wrong choices, we sometimes played to fast… I mean, our team is good when we take our time and think about what we are going to. Here it was more like - we are going to do this thing and then we rush. I mean, they were very good on the CT side and we didn't play Nuke in a while.

Were you hoping for another map maybe?

It was between Nuke and Overpass , on both maps we are not that good, we are shaky, so we knew it would be hard. It was difficult to lose 10 rounds in the row, but that's what it was.

When the match draw came out and you were paired with Immortals, were you happy with what you got?

The only team we were scared of was Immortals because we never win against them, even in practice we are getting wrecked by them. So it was a difficult matchup, we were not happy with it.

How much do you think the fact that they didn't make it to the Major yet help you here? You were behind pretty much and then you started the comeback, did you feel like that was an additional boost or a weight on their shoulders?

I think they had a lot of pressure to finish the game, when we won the pistol as CT we could feel it. It's normal because they are a young team and they have never qualified for a Major. We had pressure as well on our end, we had no solution and we won I think only one buy round as T. We managed to come back as CT and it was one of the most difficult comebacks I think.

Did you feel that the eco round win towards the end of the match was the breaking point in the match?

I think it was a quite important round because we had no money on this one and we managed to win it. I think it boosted the team as well and we knew we could come back.

What are your plans for the coming weeks before the Major starts?

We'll take a week and a half vacation for Christmas and New Years and then we are just going to practice a lot. We have so much to fix, we are struggling so much right now so I hope we are going to fix that and we are going to come back for the Major stronger.
