ELEAGUE Major 2017G2 defeat fnatic in ELEAGUE Major
G2 defeated fnatic 16-10 on Cache in the second match at the ELEAGUE Major.
Cache was the map for the second match at the ELEAGUE Major and Richard "shox" Papillon's quad-kill and 1vs2 clutch gave the round to the CT-sided G2. Olof "olofmeister" Kajbjer replied with a triple kill and fnatic tied the game at 1-1.
Cédric "RpK" Guipouy stopped fnatic's A-site rush with three Five-Seven kills, forcing fnatic to eco in the next round. After they lost the eco round, fnatic got opening kills on Mid and B to make it 2-3. Double-kill by Edouard "SmithZz" Dubourdeaux on the B-site was enough for a G2 retake (2-4).
RpK stepped up on the T-side
The back-and-forth match continued with Freddy "KRIMZ" Johansson's 1vs2 clutch and fnatic tied it at 4-4 after winning the anti-eco. Simon "twist" Eliasson won a post-plant 1vs1 to make it 7-5 in his team's favor but G2 won the following round with pistols. Dennis "dennis" Edman and olofmeister won a 2vs4 in the fourteenth round and fnatic led 9-6 halftime after KRIMZ's 1vs2.
G2 managed to win the second half pistol round and tied the game 9-9 following their anti-eco round wins. olofmeister boosted the fnatic defense in the fourth round of the half by getting two opening kills and the Swedes won the round.
The Frenchmen took the lead after RpK's triple kill and they went on to win the match 16-10.
