GODSENT demolish Astralis on Train

GODSENT managed a one-sided win over Astralis on Train (16-6) to kick off their Major campaign.

The Scandinavian matchup between Astralis and GODSENT started very well for the Swedish team. After picking up the CT pistol and the following two rounds, Jesper "⁠JW⁠" Wecksell rose to the occasion and clutched a crucial 1v2 on the A site of Train to extend his team's lead to 4-0. Astralis found themselves 9-0 down before Markus "⁠Kjaerbye⁠" Kjærbye clutched a 1v1 to get his team on the board.

Lukas "⁠gla1ve⁠" Rossander defended a 1v2 after plant on the B-site that made the score 9-2, but without players surviving the previous rounds Astralis' economy was reset after losing the following round. Without Nicolai "⁠device⁠" Reedtz on the AWP and with limited utility, the Danish team was only able to pick up one more round in the first half, making it 12-3.

Lekr0 was sublime against Astralis

Jonas "⁠Lekr0⁠" Olofsson opened up the second pistol round with a Deagle headshot on gla1ve, helping the Swedes get to 15-3 before Peter "⁠dupreeh⁠" Rasmussen and co. got their first CT round off the back of a desperate pistol-armor buy.

gla1ve was instrumental in getting his team to six rounds, but Lekr0's double entry with the Deagle on a force-buy round sealed the match, making it 16-6 for GODSENT.

GODSENT showed that they are team of majors as well, defeating Astralis on their best map and also showing SK they are not feared for train, they surely have potential for semi at least but we will see what next matches will bring on. I don't think that swedish reshuffle will happen after seeing how coordinated and well GODSENT is playing, "per sources" should stop giving such rumours. Thorin also should stop laughing team he doesn't favor when he does it, that team completely demolishes his favorite.

Device only has a good rating when it's possible to farm in group stage. And the teammates' argument was really useful when talking about cold or fer in early 2016 too xD

Rating may be getting better for device, but if you watch all his games and pick out a few crucial rounds - the rounds that actually decide the outcome - he tends to choke. So even if he's performing much better in important matches, he's quite unreliable when you need that clutch guy in a 14-15 game. Does he need to be that guy as well? Probably not, his rating says he contributes more than enough, but still, it would be a nice bonus for Astralis. This game, when they came in as big favs, proves that Chokealis isn't over yet. Device played decent, but the others, oh my god.
