olofmeister: "Didn't expect Dust2"

Olof "olofmeister" Kajbjer gave us a short interview in which he talked about fnatic's match against mousesports and Joakim "disco doplan" Gidetun's performance so far.

fnatic are sitting on a 2-1 record following a win against MOUZ in the third round, where the Swedes were down 2-8 but ended up coming out on top at 16-11 on Dust2.

olofmeister doesn't care whom fnatic play next

Olof "olofmeister" Kajbjer shared his thoughts on the match, Joakim "disco doplan" Gidetun's performance at the Major, and Dennis "dennis" Edman's remarks about teamplay not being much of a factor:

You had quite a poor start, losing 2-8, and then it seemed like you started figuring mousesports out, was there anything you changed afterwards?

First of all, we didn't really expect Dust2, so we didn't prepare for it. We were pretty sure they were going to ban it, but we were happy with the map we got to play, but we prepared for three other maps. We got a slow start in the beginning, NiKo got a nice first pistol round, but we kinda went one by one, it was pretty stupid. In the first gunround, I fucked up a smoke, which I shouldn't do, it shouldn't happen at this stage. But we started getting into the game more and more. A very important round was the 1v1 by dennis in the pistol round as CT, that was probably the most important round of the game.

What about some of the latter rounds, maybe KRIMZ's solo quad-kill on B?

KRIMZ's round was really good, I think it was really good play by him, he's the best at those situations. Nobody else would have done it, but at the same time, you can say it was both them going one by one and him making it one on one. But it was kinda bad by them as well.

You're now 2-1, one win away from the playoffs, is there anyone you'd like to avoid or anyone you'd like to face?

I don't really care who we play, I always had that mentality, doesn't matter, you have to beat everybody. At the Major, anyone can beat anyone, it has already shown now in the group stage. I don't have anyone who I prefer or anyone whom I don't prefer.

disco doplan has had a bit of a rough tournament so far, does he get nervous, seeing as this is his first Major?

First of all it's his first Major, and second of all it depends on how you look at things, I don't think he has done bad at all. He has the hard positions to play that pretty much nobody else wants to play and also, when we played North for example, all his kills were really impactful. For me, you can have 0-20 and do one or two rounds that can win us two rounds in a row, that means everything, so if you only look at stats, maybe he has had a bad start, but that's not how we look at stuff.

Yesterday, dennis said that he doesn't really think the game is too much about teamplay, if I'm not sure if he was joking or not, how do you view the game as a team? Do you play as individually as dennis says?

I don't know if he was joking or not, but I mean, you have to have teamplay, it's not how it works. It's easier for dennis when he can just rush out and kill three guys, not everyone can do that. Of course we try to play kinda yolo, but we have to have the basics, that's how we play the game. As long as you are really good at making fast decisions that not only affects you but also the team. That's where a lot of players make the wrong decisions and I think we're one of the better teams at doing that.

Make sure to check out the other interviews we've conducted on the first two days of the ELEAGUE Major:

"First of all, we didn't really expect Dust2, so we didn't prepare for it. We were pretty sure they were going to ban it" This is the dumbest thing I've ever read from a pro, why does it seem like every fucking team except SK is abolsute dogshit with vetoes? I could look at stats on HLTV for 5 minutes and do a better job.

Yea, you only know stats. You don't know stuff BTS. Maybe they were good on scrims versus mouz on Dust? Maybe they are just feeling super confident on Dust and there are other maps you need to gain your confidence on? All spectators are outsiders and dont have enuf knowledge to comment on these types of things. Don't assume stuff if u dont know the full picture.

They may have scrimmed mouz before the major on Dust and hence didnt prepare for the map before hand. What I took it as is that once they found out mouz would be their opponent, they expected and prepared 3 maps the night before aka yesterday.

I believe that it's because of their performance on d2 lately... Like Fnatic is playing well enough on that map. But yeah, it was a dumb idea to let it through knowing that Mouz's map pool is like cache-d2 and then nothing.

"I don't really care who we play, I always had that mentality, doesn't matter, you have to beat everybody." Interesting mentality, i mean, i wouldn't want to deal with NA'VI in a group stage, but this is the 2nd or 3rd time i hear this from him before getting fucked over by a tier 400 team.

he has some "shit" like Flusha (i mean he became arrogant). and he is always punched for that in-game. like flusha.

What you want him to say? We are scared of playing NaVi and we hope we get HellRaisers? This is noy how things work, you need to show you are confident and dont fear other teams.

holy crap, the reach is real. what else do you expect him to say? "hey look, we're scared to play X team", and now X team maybe goes into the game with a different mentality. what he said wasn't wrong at all. if you have any hopes of winning a big tournament, you're bound to play more than a couple of tough teams. Except WESG, kek.

Maybe the HLTV idiotic & stupid reporters should just upgrade their questions , they ask the same questions every tournament , not funny anymore !! and you want Olof to fear Navi ? you want Fnatic to fear a team that get B A T T E R E D every time they face ? don't make me laugh my friend .. Fnatic is the LAST team Navi would wanna play ..

Its their best map but it is also a map where a team like fnatic without any special starts can crush you. If you go against a team like fnatic atm you do better picking a starts based map where they will stuggle crazy amout
