TN pick XpG up after Assembly win

The winners of Assembly Winter 2017, Tortues Ninja (playing under the dizLown banner in Finland), have signed Guillaume "XpG" Veron to replace Matthéo "nonick" Canei.

The French team, who were crowned champions of Assembly Winter 2017 last weekend with Guillaume "⁠XpG⁠" Veron standing in for Matthéo "⁠nonick⁠" Canei, have decided to make what was a momentary situation into a permanent one.

In Helsinki, dizLown beat Vexed, Singularity, the local Rynnäkköviikset team who showed great upset potential, and finally one of the favorite teams to take it all in the final, Outlaws.

XpG will be back with PetitSkel and Meta

After such a great showing Tortues Ninja decided to keep XpG to try to build upon their success in Finland—which got the team hovering not too far outside our top 30—, and therefore released nonick, who was let go due to personal issues.

XpG made a statement to flickshot.fr regarding him joining the team:

"Meta called me just a couple hours before the flight to Helsinki asking me to replace nonick, an offer I obviously accepted. My initial implication in the project was just to be at the event. Replacing Matthéo was really hard for me because we have different roles and styles, and I didn't have any automation systems with the team. I did as best I could to adapt quickly and line up with the level of play of the rest of the team. They really deserved the win after playing the way they did.

"After the event, the players decided to release and pick me up permanently, a fairly logical choice due to my experience and my affinity to Meta and PetitSkel. Our level of play this weekend is a good sign of the things to come and it makes me very happy. We're actively searching for an organization and can be contacted at [email protected]"

Some future stars on this line up i guess. Last year LDLC White won the Assembly Winter and bodyy became a star player, DEVIL would have been one if it wasn't for some NV players betrayal, and to1nou is a future star as well.

Seeing Happy and apEX making fun of DEVIL on stream is still some behaviour you shouldn't see on a pro team (especially a big one like NV). Looks like they didn't make him feel welcome even though he was probably not the player they needed.

GL. Promising team tbh. Since it's obviously hard to play vs a team of the same nationality as your own, it wouldn't be far-fetched to assume this team could upset the likes of LDLC/NV. Don't seeing them having enough skill to surprise G2, but they will definitely strengthen the french scene! GL broskis!
