SL i-League S3 qualifiers revealed

Starladder has announced the first details about the online qualifying process for the SL i-League StarSeries Season 3 finals.

Eight of the 16 spots at the $300,000 competition will be determined through online qualifiers held in Europe, Asia and the Americas.

Europe and Asia are both allocated three qualifying slots for the competition, while North America will have just two qualified teams at the event.

Immortals will have to go through the North American qualifiers

In Europe and the Americas, the qualifying process will kick off with a round-robin group stage, which will determine the eight teams who will advance to the single-elimination playoffs, where they will join eight invited sides.

In Asia, the 16 competing teams - 11 invited and five qualified - will be placed into four double-elimination groups. The top two teams from each group secure passage to the single-elimination playoffs, with the two finalists and the winner of a third-place decider advancing to the season finals, in Kiev.

G2 will most likely be invited to the playoffs, they were finalists last SL i-League StarSeries tournament. I'm not sure about EnVyUs though.

EnVyUs made it to the quarterfinals at that tournament. Also, a majority of the old EnVy lineup are now in G2 (apEX, NBK, kennyS).

Agreed, but Starladder is CIS organization so they will try to make it easier for CIS teams. Plus the more CIS teams, the bigger chance of increased amount of sold tickets for that event. It is not always like better team = insta invite:)
