Virtus.pro edge out Misfits
Virtus.pro got off on the right foot at DreamHack Masters Las Vegas as they beat Misfits 16-12 on Cobblestone.
The match began with Misfits taking the pistol round and following it up with two anti-ecos to get out to a 3-0 lead. Janusz "Snax" Pogorzelski then picked up three AWP frags to give Virtus.pro their first round of the game, with the Polish team also securing the next two rounds to equalise the score at 3-3.
A well-timed A split saw Misfits retake the lead, but the North Americans were unable to build on that as they were caught off-guard in a 4v3 situation, with Snax and Wiktor "TaZ" Wojtas getting two kills each.
Down 4-5, Misfits found the equaliser with a no-nonsense B push, and they followed that up with two more rounds to put the Polish team with their backs against the wall. But then Filip "NEO" Kubski stepped up the plate, winning a key 1v2 clutch to bring Misfits' streak to an end just when they were about to run away with the lead.

Snax powered Virtus.pro to win a hard-fought game
Virtus.pro kept Misfits' offense in check in the following round before Jarosław "pashaBiceps" Jarząbkowski closed out the half with a 1v2 clutch to give his team a narrow 8-7 lead going into the second half.
Misfits restored parity with another pistol round win, surviving a major scare as they almost spurned a 4v2 situation. Virtus.pro then hit back on a force buy, but it meant nothing for them as the North Americans won the next round in convincing fashion, with Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken getting two fast CZ kills.
The next three rounds also went Misfits' way as Virtus.pro simply found no way past their opponents' defence. It was then that the Poles' offence finally came to life as they bagged seven rounds in a row en-route to a 16-12 victory in their first match in Las Vegas.
Key Moment: NEO won a 1v2 clutch in the 13th round, when Misfits already had a two-round lead. Had the North Americans won the round and they would have been in a comfortable economic situation for the rest of the half.
PotM: Janusz "Snax" Pogorzelski took the PotM award with a 1.31 Rating and several multi-kill rounds, some of which were absolutely critical.
