fnatic win against OpTic; IMT beat AST
Round three of IEM Katowice's Day 1 started off with fnatic beating OpTic 16-10 on Train and Immortals winning 16-12 on Cache against Astralis.
OpTic started out as Terrorists on Train and it was Oscar "mixwell" Cañellas that managed to pull out a 1v2 to win the pistol round. The North American squad continued to win the following rounds as they had assured a 3-0 lead, but as the Swedish team bought guns they managed to tie the game.

fnatic could already smell their victory as they began as Terrorists
The North American team won the 7th round, but from that point onward the Swedish squad kept winning rounds until the 12th round. The scoreline was 7-5 and, by the end of first half, fnatic had guaranteed a five round margin in their favor.
The second pistol round had the attacking side execute B, but it wasn't enough to win it. Although they were on a force buy, the Swedish squad was able to win the following round. From that moment, fnatic only lost four more rounds as Terrorists, including one thanks to a triple kill by mixwell, and won the map for 16-10.

Astralis began Cache on T-side. They secured the pistol round and the following two rounds, but the Brazilian's defense was too strong for the Danish side as they managed to get a four round lead as Counter-Terrorists – which included a AWP triple kill by Henrique "HEN1" Teles in the 10th round – until they finally lost one.

fnx's new team has guaranteed their second Katowice victory
In the 12th round, Lucas "steel" Lopes won a 1v1 against Nicolai "device" Reedtz, which broke Astralis's economy and eventually made them lose first half for 11-4. device secured the second pistol round for his team with a triple kill, which eventually led them to a four round difference.
As the Brazilians bought AKs, an A execution had guaranteed them their first T-side round. Despite Immortals's effort, the Danish squad was able to win three straight rounds until they were losing for a 12-10 scoreline. Astralis lost the following one and the 25th as Lincoln "fnx" Lau's new team won a semi-buy for a 14-11 lead, and although Peter "dupreeh" Rasmussen's squad won one more, it was another semi-buy that had assured the match point for the Brazilians and eventually the map for 16-12.
