Xyp9x: "Kept taking banana control"

We grabbed the IEM Katowice MVP, Andreas "Xyp9x" Højsleth, for an interview following Astralis clinching the title with a 3-1 win over FaZe in the grand final.

Astralis have added another title to their resumé at IEM Katowice. In the grand final, they were trailing 0-1 following a loss on Cache but went on to clinch the following three maps, Overpass, Nuke, and Inferno, in narrow fashion.

After the grand final, we got a hold of the MVP, Andreas "Xyp9x" Højsleth, and asked him about the grand final, his recent resurgence in form, and the state of the top-tier scene:

No offence to xyp9x. All of Astralis deserve to be the number1 team in the world, and xyp9x is playing well atm. But. The most logic and obvious MVP at IEM was Dupreeh. He fired them up on both Overpass and on Nuke when it was needed. I dont think its enough to be the stabile player.. You could clearly see on how Astralis performed before Dupreeh pulled out an insane eco round, and how they looked as if they could not close the gap on Nuke when he showed up with that clutch once again. Dupreeh is in my eyes the MVP of IEM and i dont think they would have won in this form without Dupreeh's massive ace and 1on3..

Guess you didnt see groupstage matches, where xyp pulled one clutch out after another - in close matches, combined with his stability in all matches and overall better kd/ratio than Dupreeh, If Dupreeh made that in groupstage it properly would be long forgotten now. Groupstage was hard in both groups making all their victories necessary to advance.

Well in that case it made sense. But i still think Dupreeh should have some short of respect for what kinda insane shit he pulled off to keep there ***** hard in the final.
