Our moviemaker Josip "brcho" Brtan put together a video containing the highlights of the top players of IEM Katowice 2017. Eight exceptional performers found their place in the movie alongside the HLTV MVP by ZOWIE winner Andreas "Xyp9x" Højsleth.

Adding on to HLTV.org's coverage of IEM Katowice 2017, we are releasing the 'IEM Katowice 2017 - Top players' video, a six-minute long highlight movie that will run you through the tournament's top performers and remind you of their best plays at the event.

Eight players made the cut: the Immortals duo Henrique "⁠HEN1⁠" Teles and Lincoln "⁠fnx⁠" Lau, Nikola "⁠NiKo⁠" Kovač and Aleksi "⁠allu⁠" Jalli from FaZe and the quartet from Astralis—Peter "⁠dupreeh⁠" Rasmussen, Nicolai "⁠device⁠" Reedtz, Markus "⁠Kjaerbye⁠" Kjærbye and Andreas "⁠Xyp9x⁠" Højsleth.

In the end, it was Xyp9x that won the HLTV MVP by ZOWIE award for his incredible play throughout the tournament and a record-breaking number of clutches at a single event. Press play on the video below to enjoy the video that was put together by HLTV.org's moviemaker Josip "brcho" Brtan.

its not, if you lost a gun round you should get punished that's why there's an economy in the game, you shouldn't be able to one tap people across the map with a pistol.

if its so hard why there was so many deagle highlights in this event? i mean, if you watched FaZe games you saw that they lost a bunch of gun rounds then they bought deagles and won a bunch of crucial rounds with it, Immortals too, the comeback that they made against Fnatic on Mirage came out of a 4k deagle round from Lucas1 and Astralis i'm starting to think that they are better with deagles than with M4's and AK's

What is wrong with that? You can counter deagles efficiently with proper tactics. If the other team lacks the mindset of countering deagles they most certainly do not deserve to win. And funny that you mention fnatic and not say a word about dennis and his deagling.

there's no way to know when a team is goin to buy deagles or just regular pistols, for instance if a team assume that the enemy team is goin to buy tec9's they will try to take long distance fights since they will have the advantage over the tec9's from far, but if the T's bought deagles insted of tec9 one good crosshair placement and the ct is gone, you don't even need to have good aim you just need to know where to place your crosshair to get a headshot and wait for someone to peek. people complain about tec9 and five seven being broken but those pistols cant do much from far while deagles can win duels against someone with a sniper from across the map.

A good aim is good aim no matter what. You're trying to simplify the tactical aspect of the game to a level where your statements makes sense but only to you. Cs:go isn't as simple as your mind. With your logic there shold be teams winning matches with tec9s and deagles only.

Deagle is accurate up to about 25 metres. Beyond that, the shot has a chance of whiffing entirely. Long on dust II, t stairs to mid/boiler on inferno, jungle to palace on mirage, truck to a main on cache. They are long enough for a deagle to be inaccurate and funnily enough, they are commonly held by AWPers. If a deagle player has enough time to line up a clean headshot, someone didn't pressure them enough.
