NiP invited to cs_summit

Ninjas in Pyjamas have received the final invite to cs_summit 2017 which will take place from April 19-23.

The tournament will be hosted in Los Angeles, California and will hand out at least $100,000 in cash prizes to eight teams. Seven of these squads have already been revealed including SK, OpTic, and Cloud9.

draken's second LAN with NIP will be in the US

Ninjas in Pyjamas have recently made a roster change by parting ways with Jacob "⁠pyth⁠" Mourujärvi and adding William "⁠draken⁠" Sundin. The Swedes will attend SL i-League StarSeries Season 3 Finals in Kiev, Ukraine before travelling to the US for cs_summit which means the American event will be the second LAN for the new lineup.

The event will feature three North American and two Swedish teams. The full team list is below:

I don't think the prize pool justifies the travel involved for either those two teams. LA is basically in SK's backyard, so that's why they the only team from the hi-tier group. Much like DH Austin, I actually like that it's so even on paper

Are you so blinded by you love for SK that you must make up arguments? Where did I criticize the organizers? I understand the reason you are giving, however inviting an other NA based team wouldn't be much more expensive, something like IMT would also fit the lineup better. My criticism was towards SK, why do they agree to play in a T2 event? The only logical explanation is that they are so sick of not winning anything in for ever that they lower their ambitions.

SK is probably playing this tournament just for some practice ahead of more important tournaments, since tier 1 teams are not available for such a lower scale tournament (inside the BTS House on LAN). Regardless, it's a great opportunity for IGL's to show each other their cards. NiP will be there as well which is again, GOOD PRACTICE and a feel of things for Draken about what lie ahead. Edit: lies ahead* BTS has no leagues for CS or even a history with CS. Winning this means nothing to any of the top 5 teams in the grand scheme of things. If a team wants to look for cheap victories, they'd be travelling to every Tier 3 LAN around the world on the org's tab which is obviously not the case.

yes he needs very much luck, cuz he is new in NIP, so he has to integrate into new swedish team. Also NIP is in the last few weeks going down and down, because the teamwork didn't worked and pyth didn't played very well. So I hope NIP will shine again. PS: NIP, don't win, because i want EnVyUs to win ;D

Who cares about you being better than anyone else. It's just a common sense. Tier 1 teams always compete for top 4, tier 2 teams can upset them rarely if they are playing their best games. Tier 3 teams just used to fill event's lineups

Not really. The organisers invite the best teams and if they accept, then they announce it. Why would anyone announce 'Astralis, VP, FaZe invited, but do not want to come'? It's all about publicity and good image of the tournament. My guess is that NiP wants to pracc with draken on LAN, so they can qualify for the qualifier to the Major. Also, the teams use twitter if they announced going, but decide not to/can't or if the tournament is really high profile and they aren't there.

When the tournament was announced, aside of a number of invites, qualifiers were to be held in February. In the end though, as far as I have checked, all teams have accessed through direct invites.
