Gambit kicked off day two at StarSeries with a tight 16-13 win against TyLoo on Cobblestone.
The start of day two in Kiev saw two of yesterday's losing sides, TYLOO and Gambit, face off on Cobblestone, where the latter holds an 8-0 record on LAN.
The Chinese side ran a quick strat to the A bombsite to start it off and clinched the pistol round and the following anti-ecos.
Gambit quickly took control with Abay "HObbit" Khassenov and Dauren "AdreN" Kystaubayev picking up triples defending B and continued to pile up rounds after Mihail "Dosia" Stolyarov and Rustem "mou" Telepov each clutched a 1v2 on the same bombsite.
It wasn't until the CIS-based side was leading 6-3 that TYLOO got their first gunround, picking off Gambit one by one and equalizing the score at 6-6 soon after.
Gambit stay undefeated on Cobblestone offline
WeiJie "zhokiNg" Zhong then saved a tough anti-eco situation with a 1v2 clutch of his own, but the remaining two rounds went the other way, as Dosia and company got an 8-7 half on the CT side.
Gambit extended their lead to 11-7 on the back of a nearly clean pistol before TYLOO began stringing rounds together with Ke "captainMo" Liu and HaoWen "somebody" Xu getting crucial doubles.
Danylo "Zeus" Teslenko's side couldn't figure out a way past the defenses until it was 11-12 when they won three in a row and only conceded one more round before keeping their streak on Cobblestone alive by winning 16-13.
PotM: AdreN was the most important player in Gambit's victory, being involved in most of the key rounds. With six multi-kills, all of which led to a round win, and 100+ damage in 10 of the 16 rounds Gambit won, the 27-year-old takes the Player of the Match award.
