DreamHack Austin group draw

The draw for the group stage of DreamHack Austin has been made, with the eight participating teams having been drawn into two groups.

The second of nine DreamHack Open stops scheduled for 2017, DreamHack Austin will run from April 28 to 30 at the Austin Convention Center, with eight teams battling it out for their share of a $100,000 prize pool.

+1, i dont understand how they could fuck it up this badly. i guess in terms of the seeding the argument would be that neither c9 nor liquid have done anything at all this year, whereas slumping gambit are major legends and heroic and hr have results to show for.

group B rigged bad for a NA team to get a good chance to get to playoffs but fucked them with getting them a stacked group PREDICTIONS: HR 2-0 G2 2-0 Heroic 2-1 IMT/C9 2-1 -playoffs HR vs IMT/C9 2-1 Heroic vs G2 0-2 G2 vs HR 2-1 if G2 cant win this event then they have to get a change in roles or players

I feel like HR has proved they are better than the NA teams but other than that I agree. Seems weird to have Heroic, Luminosity, and Gambit in one group while 4 of the top 5 teams in this event are in the other.

heroic have done pretty well in katowice. gambit are major legends. hr top4 starladder. meanwhile: imt semis i think katowice, g2 quarters starladder, NA teams nothing at all. so it looks like crap but u can comprehend it kinda.

imt did just as good, if not better than heroic at katowice. G2 stomped HR at starladder and arguably had the harder team at quarters losing to the eventual champions.

they wouldnt base seeding on moral victories like "g2 went out in quarters and HR went out in semis but g2 had the much harder opponent". they would probably just take the result as is, which is the only thing that makes sense.

we have no idea how c9 will do after ska has been out for so long and them not having a permanent IGL, and we also dont know how liquid will do with twistzz now and they also still have BOT jdm. we dont even know if they'll be better than fucking lg.

same logic applies to gambit and hr. we dont know if hr at starladder was a fluke, we dont know if gambit will show up, they have falen off.

yeah it does. thats why i judge gambit and HR differently than c9 and liquid. bcs gambit was good a while back, HR is on the rise, liquid and c9 are nothing at all. or am i forgetting any notable lan performances in 2017
