After releasing the 2009 relegation rules, it became a fact that MYM are the titleholders of 2008.
Rewinding back to ESWC Masters in Paris 2008, MYM came short to grab one of the qualification slots and really had no other options to attend ESWC 2008 in San Jose. The team did however managed to find a solution, as they made a deal with their former team, PGS, to be placing under the name PGS.MYM, taking over the autoberth they won in 2007.
MYM were the official club registered and by winning the event, they both received the prize money and the autoberth for 2009. The only requirements for MYM to defend their title are to have at least three of the players winning the 2008 event.
