Cloud9 invited to DH Summer

Cloud9 have been announced as the last team to receive an invite to DreamHack Open Summer.

The North American side are the sixth squad to be invited and will be joining SK, Immortals, fnatic, Gambit and MOUZ on the team list for this year's Dreamhack Summer edition.

Cloud9 are also confirmed for the ESL Pro League Season 5 Finals, from May 31 to June 4, and for the Americas Minor, just four days later. Earlier this month, Cloud9 won the Subaru Invitational after beating SK 2-0 in the grand final.

After placing 5th-6th in Austin, Cloud9 are confirmed for another DreamHack event

With all the invited teams confirmed, the last two squads will be joining the team list via the qualifiers, on May 20-21. Until then, the list of participants looks as follows:

DreamHack Open Summer will take place from June 17-19 at the Elmia Exhibition and Convention Centre, in Jönköping, Sweden, with $100,000 on offer.

Nah that's perfectly fine, he's basically saying he thinks SK are more prepared for this tournament because they've been practicing for it when Astralis have been practicing/saving things for the major and won't want to show too much here, same with Faze. Makes perfect sense to anyone who isn't biased and is instead objective. But as you said you're a fan of FaZe so you got offended.

But that's the exact reason Faze and Astralis denied their invites, because they want to focus on the major. And if they did attend this they may not only lose it due to lack of preparation but also lose out on time they could be practicing for the major and risk being less polished for that as well.

It's dreamhack in SWEDEN. How come they invite BOTH SK and IMT but not NiP? Yes NiP is shit but that has nothing to do with CS and organizing tournaments. NiP brings in viewers and money and SK/IMT don't. If I wanted to watch SK I'd go to Skånes Djurpark or Skansen

First of all, you don't know that they didn't invite NiP and had them decline. It's actually not unlikely for that to be true with all the issues they're having, I wouldn't doubt that they either want to not focus on smaller tournies for a while or are planning a disband and don't feel like playing additional tournies on their way out. On top of that I wouldn't put it past the tournament organizers to disregard NiP with their recent results and just go for the overall best possible teams they can get.
