North, mouz and Liquid to EPL S5 playoffs

The last round of matches in Group B has been played, with the results placing Liquid in the playoffs over Natus Vincere and OpTic.

The early phase of the OpTic - Natus Vincere game was a back-and-forth affair, but OpTic took over the momentum when Oscar "mixwell" Cañellas started rolling with the AWP. It was 8-3 for the North American side shortly after, and a solid 9-6 halftime score in the end.

The second half was all about OpTic as the North American side rolled over Natus Vincere, with the CIS team's economy situation helping out Tarik "tarik" Celik and co. make the score 16-8.

Liquid were quick to establish a lead in their game against North, winning the second round force buy as Terrorists on Cobblestone and getting a 6-1 lead off the back of it. A last second defuse from Philip "aizy" Aistrup got North back in the game, but Liquid managed to secure the last round of the half to take 8-7 lead before switching to CT.

Liquid managed to secure a playoff spot in the last round of matches, thanks in part to OpTic beating Na`Vi

Rounds were traded back and forth at the start of the second half, but it was Liquid to take the momentum and close out the map 16-10 to secure the third place in group B and a spot in the playoffs tomorrow.

In the last game, NRG faced MOUZ, with little on the line as NRG was already eliminated and MOUZ secured playoffs. The North American side picked up the first two rounds as CTs on Mirage, but MOUZ replied shortly and went on a six round-winning streak.

The first half went from bad to worse for NRG when their single round win was followed up with MOUZ winning a round of their own, resetting the economy of the North Americans.

After an 11-4 Terrorist side on Mirage, MOUZ didn't have too hard of time closing out the game, making it 16-10 in the end.

Worst system ever, North threw against Liquid to harm Na'vi. Mousesports deserved first place and go to semifinals because of round difference North hadn't nothing to fight for in last match so they fucking threw

I honestly think, it is their right to throw the last match. They earned that by winning four in a row, so why go hard and give more demo material if you know you're first already?

s1mple took the worst decision ever leaving Liquid for NaVi (i know it was his dream and he felt homesick living in the US but CSwise Liquid could have been number 1 world or close to it - not a big era but a short time they could have been number 1 world or close to it like OpTic did it when they won ELeague + the Montreal LAN i think vs G2 in final + the other final - i don't remember the tourney's name - they lost vs Astralis).

They were a certain point based on their form at the moment as they won 2 tournies (including the massive one ELeague) + another final (lost to Astralis) in the same month. (they reached second place of HLTV's ranking too, so they definitely were top 1 or top 2 at a point last year).

Optic had an insane run in December '16, 2 weeks later Stan left the team and they got where they are now. They are is still a strong team, tho. About Liquid, they had potential... Elige and s1mple are star players and can carry a team to the top tier, but I don't know about the other 3, specially JDM.

I'm happy for Liquid. I like them as a team and I found myself rooting for them in some of the games. Cloud9 get all the attention but Liquid are far superior as a team. Liquid/EnvyUs should be an interesting series as well and It could very easily go either way. As for Na'Vi, I'm not surprised. They have fallen off big time since the departure of Zeus and I don't see them getting back to that level anytime soon. S1mple is a brilliant player that is being wasted in a bad system and GuardiaN isn't playing at the same high level anymore. It will be interesting to see if they will change anything in terms of players anytime soon.

removing zeus was the worst mistake navi have ever done in their careers. I understand bringing in s1mple because he is such a huge talent, but you dont just remove someone like zeus who had such huge control over the whole team and their playstyle. When he left, navi lost the very own playstyle they created and just became another team with no distinct playstyle. It hurts me watching them now remembering how good they used to be.
