PENTA have guaranteed their spot in the Europe Minor Championship grand final after beating dignitas 2-1 in the Upper Bracket final.
The last series of the day kicked off on Mirage, Dignitas' map pick, and with a back-and-forth pistol round. After Kevin "HS" Tarn added three kills to his name, Jorgen "cromen" Robertsen would eventually clutch a 1v3 situation, securing the first CT round for his team.
Following the initial three-round lead, Dignitas could not hold PENTA's T-side – with Miikka "suNny" Kemppi and HS finding the most opening kills – winning only one more round until half-time.
Once again, the Norwegians grabbed the pistol and the subsequent two rounds, reducing the deficit to 7-11. With an early A execution, Dignitas picked up the first gun round, but they would lose to a semi-buy in the following one.
Dignitas picked themselves up and broke PENTA's economy, pushing for a 13-13 tie, but then Paweł "innocent" Mocek's squad won three straight rounds to close out the map, 16-13.
Starting out as Terrorists on their map pick, Inferno, PENTA lost the first three rounds before HS cleared the B bombsite with two opening kills to help his team secure the first gun round.
However, Dignitas did not let their opponents answer for six more rounds, securing a dominant 9-1 lead. PENTA then managed to win a semi-buy, but it was not enough to stop their opponents, who ended the half with a 13-2 lead.
With a fast B execution and double-kills from Jesper "TENZKI" Plougmann and Ruben "RUBINO" Villarroel, Dignitas easily picked up the pistol round. With a low economy and no room for error, PENTA could not prevent Dignitas from taking the series to a third map with a 16-2 beating.
The decider map was Overpass and PENTA started it on the right foot, retaking the A bombsite to secure the pistol round. Surprisingly, Dignitas did not eco in the following round, which meant they would only be able to buy in the fourth round.
Joakim "jkaem" Myrbostad's men then grabbed the first gun round with a B execution, but the same would not happen in the following round, which they lost after another B play. Until half-time, even though PENTA were largely superior, Dignitas still won four more rounds – with the last two being clutched by RUBINO and Ricardo "fox" Pacheco in 1v2 situations.
After winning the CT pistol round, Dignitas seemed to be ready to get back to the game. However, PENTA managed to win their force-buy with a B execution, leading them to a 14-6 scoreline.
From that moment onward, the Norwegian team still reached the nine-round mark before Kevin "kRYSTAL" Amend's squad hit match point. After losing the next four rounds, PENTA finally closed out the series 2-1 with a 16-13 win to guarantee a spot in the title decider.
