DreamHack Open Summer 2017Fnatic beat Cloud9 at DH Summer
fnatic have picked up their first victory at DreamHack Summer after defeating Cloud9 16-12 on Mirage.
The second game of Group B was played on Mirage, a map statistically more favourable for the Swedes. fnatic had a solid start on the Terrorist side, with Dennis "dennis" Edman shutting down three players of Cloud9 in the pistol round.
fnatic remained in control and increased their lead to 3-0, but as Cloud9 upgraded their weaponry, Jake "Stewie2K" Yip showed his quality and secured the first round for his team.
From then on, both teams continuously exchanged rounds, with the half ending in a narrow 8-7 lead in fnatic's favour.
In a matter of minutes, Cloud9 turned the tables as they secured the pistol round and followed it up with three more rounds to take an 11-8 lead.
The Swedes didn't seem to be impressed by the promising looking comeback of the North Americans, with Robin "flusha" Rönnquist and Freddy "KRIMZ" Johansson rescuing their team with a force-buy. That would be the start of a tremendous run from fnatic, who won seven of the next eight rounds to take a 16-12 win.
