Astralis beat Liquid in Group B opener

The first round went the way of the Danes, who started on the terrorist side on Inferno, with Andreas "⁠Xyp9x⁠" Højsleth getting a triple. Liquid were quick to react, though, and took the following with upgrated pistols. Down 1-3, Astralis regained their footing winning a couple to tie the match back up at 3-3, and sending Liquid on an eco.

It looked like Astralis were going to run away with the half, when they leaped ahead 7-4 on the scoreboard, but were only able to close it out with an 8-7 lead.

After the teams switched sides, Astralis increased their lead by winning the second pistol round. Once again, though, Liquid won the pistol buy in the second round, destroying Astralis’ economy.

Twenty rounds in Astralis and Liquid were at a stalemate, with 10-10 on the board, but from there on out Astralis took the reins and kept Liquid at bay, closing it out 16-11.
