ESL national champions to compete in MDL
The ESL national champions will be given a spot in the ESEA MDL in Seasons 26 and 27, and the league will be expanded from 24 to 27 teams.
ESL has announced that its national leagues will feed into the ESL MDL, with five countries divvying up slots in seasons 26 and 27. The league will also expand, as three new slots will be created to accommodate the influx of new teams.

The leagues that will afford teams spots in the MDL will be the ESL Premiership in the UK and the Mistrzostwa in Poland for season 26—which is also the season Virtus.pro will make their debut in the league—and the German Meisterschaft, French Championnat National, and Spanish Masters in season 27.
"The continued growth of the esports industry relies on the fostering of new talent. ESL and ESEA have a staunch belief that anyone wishing to play at the top level in esports should be supported, and offered a clear path to make their dream a reality. Today’s announcement does just that by uniting ESEA’s leading anticheat, local servers for Europe with ESL’s passionate fan base."
- Ulrich Schulze, VP of Pro Gaming at ESL
