Main round over, relegation stage next

Extreme Masters III Main Round ended when emuLate defeated TBH.MSI. Eight teams are ready for the Continental Finals Europe, while another eight will play the relegation stage to determine their future destiny in Extreme Masters III.

Teams to place first and second it their groups are already qualified for the Continental Finals Europe, third and fourth placed teams will enter the relegation stage. The relegation stage will send four teams to the Continental Finals Europe, where another eight teams are already waiting. The relegation stage will be played best of three and the draw took place yesterday. Below you see the matchups for the Extreme Masters III Relegation Stage.

[upcomingbooked,14,890578]

Virtus.pro will for the second season in a row, play the relegation stage. Last season the Russian team was able to advance to the World Finals by defeating mTw 2:1. Virtus.pro has been paired with Millenium, not really playing that well throughout the main round, with 2 victories and four losses. Virtus.pro has however also hit trouble with the new lineup, but should be able to win this one.

[upcomingbooked,14,890579]

Not doing so well in the main round, fnatic have been put up against Soltec (former AndThenSome.fi). Starting with two losses (against Excello and Giants) and later on losing to mousesports, fnatic had no chances to advance directly to the Continental Finals Europe. They will play Soltec, who played third in group D, with mTw, Blank, emuLate, dakarma, Ledpc, eXplosive and TBH.MSI.

[upcomingbooked,14,890580]

The two German teams playing the relegation stage have been paired to face each other. The two met already last week, in the online pre-qualifier for KODE5 Germany. Alternate nailed that match with a 2:0 score and is counted heavily as favorites to win this match.

[upcomingbooked,14,890581]

Last relegation match will is going to be a tough one. GamePlay will take on emuLate in a much exciting match to determine which of the two will go to the Continental Finals Europe. A star is back, as emuLate brought back Mickael mSx Cassisi at the beginning of 2009. GamePlay is without a organization and have no sponsors, they are going through a tough period and it is not going to be easy against the 2007 World Cyber Games champions.

The teams already qualified for the Extreme Masters III Continental Finals Europe are:

Sweden SK Gaming
Germany n!faculty
Denmark XLBet.ATS
Poland MYM
Germany mousesports
Sweden Giants
Denmark mTw
Sweden Blank

The Continental Finals Europe will take place in Hannover, 3-8th of March, at the world’s biggest IT trade fair CeBIT. HLTV.org will be on site to bring you full coverage of the Continental Finals Europe and also the Global Finals.

There already are 3 swedish teams. Nothing against fnatic, but if they lose, there'll be another Nation in form of Soltec representend at EM III. So I'd say Virtus.pro, Soltec, ALTERNATE and emuLate should go through. Virtus.pro because they have better chances than Millenium in the Finals. The same for ALTERNATE. Ok, but why Soltec and not ex-GamePlay? Just because Soltec didn't claim any international finals till now. And emuLate sure is the "better" french team of the two (Millenium, emuLate). Well, that's only my opinion.

it dosent matter where the teams come from. its how they play. and i deer say that fnatic would have a bigger chance at the finals then soltec.

emL really unlucky... :l fnatic will have no problem, GeT_RiGhT will be allowed to play and I'm pretty confident he will own almost immediately in his new team. f0rest+GTR probably is the sickest duo for a long time in a CS team.

virtus because millenium didnt show eny good performance latly, fnatic because they are 1 clas over soltec(here meny will argue but i mean the international experience and not aiming), Alternate coz i really hope they can come back and regain n1 spot or at least second in clos in germany, Gp vs Emulate this will be a hard game both team can beat eny team in the world in a grate day so we will have to wait and see maybe i am 51% for Gp :D

well i guess that will be the first major lan GTR plays this year under fnatic, altough the idea of forest+gtr in the same team is OP and maybe thats the change they need to rise to the 07 form. btw does anyone have any idea who will be the fifth for giants?
