Extreme Masters III Main Round ended when emuLate defeated TBH.MSI. Eight teams are ready for the Continental Finals Europe, while another eight will play the relegation stage to determine their future destiny in Extreme Masters III.
Teams to place first and second it their groups are already qualified for the Continental Finals Europe, third and fourth placed teams will enter the relegation stage. The relegation stage will send four teams to the Continental Finals Europe, where another eight teams are already waiting. Virtus.pro will for the second season in a row, play the relegation stage. Last season the Russian team was able to advance to the World Finals by defeating mTw 2:1. Virtus.pro has been paired with Millenium, not really playing that well throughout the main round, with 2 victories and four losses. Virtus.pro has however also hit trouble with the new lineup, but should be able to win this one.

Starting with two losses (against Excello and Giants) and later on losing to mousesports, fnatic had no chances to advance directly to the Continental Finals Europe. They will play Soltec, who played third in group D, with mTw, Blank, emuLate, dakarma, Ledpc, eXplosive and TBH.MSI.

The two German teams playing the relegation stage have been paired to face each other. The two met already last week, in the online pre-qualifier for KODE5 Germany. Alternate nailed that match with a 2:0 score and is counted heavily as favorites to win this match.

A star is back, as emuLate brought back Mickael mSx Cassisi at the beginning of 2009.
