Jakub "kuben" Gurczyński is once again member of MYM, after being removed in November 2008.
November 2008 was a mixed up month for the Polish MYM squad. At first, Lukas "LUq" Wnek was removed from the team, to make space for a new player. Actions then took a turnaround, as Lukas "LUq" Wnek was brought back to the team, while Jakub "kuben" Gurczyński was removed to make space for Filip "pionas" Pionka.
At the beginning of 2009, rumors about Jakub "kuben" Gurczyński once against joining MYM started floating. It is however now official, that Jakub "kuben Gurczyński has been brought back, while Filip "pionas" Pionka has been shown the exit door.
MYM’s Filip "Neo" Kubski explains several questions regarding the changes and upcoming goals for 2009.
Could you explain what happened in the last couple of weeks that resulted in kuben returning to your line-up?
First of all, just after the DreamHack event we decided we just all need a small break from gaming, so after the new year everyone would come fresh and motivated for upcoming preparations. Unfortunately, after we started practicing, we found out something was wrong. Kuben had been part of our team for over 2 years, and it just felt like we were missing something. After playing with the same line-up for such a long time, everyone had his own task, a task formed automatically after playing for such a long period together. Kuben had always been a great help with tactical stuff and movements during the game. Filip was different, he was on a similar level as kuben, but the team missed that important part kuben used to bring.
It feels wrong to change the line-up again, especially because pionas is one of the greatest guys out there we have ever had chance to play with, and also because he is a good player. Unfortunately, we had just been playing with the same lineup for too long, and because we didn't have good results at the end of the year, we started looking at our options, like changing something. Unfortunately, it was right before DreamHack, so we did not have much time to make a decision. We made it too fast, and as we can see now, we did wrong. We are very sorry for the mess we made. Mostly, we would like to apologize to pionas for the things we did. We just wish him the best luck in the future and we hope he will have a chance to revenge, and kick our asses someday with his old team.
This bring MYM to having following Counter-Strike 1.6 roster:
Filip "Neo" Kubski Jakub "kuben" Gurczyński Lukas "LUq" Wnek Mariusz "loord" Cybulski Wiktor "TaZ" Wojtas
The team is already qualified for the Extreme Masters III Continental Finals Europe and ESL Pro Series Poland season one finals. The team will furthermore be looking at defending the ESWC title this year, can the team secure gold for the third time in a row?
Men this is Sport you know like a good football team is not going to keep a shit player just because is not profesional. Personaly I was hoping that "kuben" is coming bak and there his :)
gO gO mYm !!!!

I think it has been a fact that using new players in old teams results failure. It happend for Get right (SK) and now poinas (MYM) and i believe it will happen for Get right (fnatic) again.
I think CS needs new teams instead of using new players in old teams, CS needs a powerful Giants with Get right instead of fnatic+Get Right team.

but what happens if an old player joins up a new team? ;) That's a winning strategy I think. U can say that threat is an old player. And he helped kHRYSTAL and qp to be where they are today :)

For all you guys saying they could have just kept kuben and not bothered with all these changes; these changes might actually help them in the long run. Kuben will very keen to play well now he's back in the team, and this should also motivate the others :)

While I think that staying with the old team is a good decision, the level of organization in MYM is horrible. What's worst of it: how can you just throw out two people that has been with you for some time, and then say: "sorry, we thought you were the other guy"... :/
