ImAPet joins OpTic as coach

OpTic Gaming have confirmed on their website that they have installed Chet "ImAPet" Singh as their head coach.

The North American tactician joins OpTic after parting ways with CLG last month, putting an end to a ten-month spell with the organisation, first as an analyst and then as coach.

At the time, ImAPet expressed his wish to pursue new opportunities and to produce "the best North American team", one who could "compete internationally and consistently in Majors."

ImAPet moves from CLG to OpTic

He will be charged with task of revitalising a team who have struggled for form since losing former ingame leader Peter "⁠stanislaw⁠" Jarguz to Liquid, in February. After trialing Luis "⁠peacemaker⁠" Tadeu, OpTic hired James "⁠hazed⁠" Cobb to coach the team, but the 28-year-old has since been moved to the active roster following Jason "⁠jasonR⁠" Ruchelski's departure.

The announcement comes just hours after OpTic were eliminated from ESL One Cologne by SK Gaming. The North American team were one of the big surprises of the tournament as they beat North, Space Soldiers and FaZe and also took a map off of SK, the No.1 team in the world at the moment.

Kio changed his mindset A LOT between nV and Faze, I don't think friberg is ready to do that, especially coming in a team of yopungsters where he will be the "old player with a lot of experience".

If imapet wants to get Optic 'consistently competing for majors', then - gotta move on from hazed, and hazed himself is prbly okay with that; he already retired once - they need to find another main awp'er besides Mixwell, because forcing a guy to do a job he hates is no recipe for sustained success I don't think Optic can rise to tier 1 unless they do these things. Particularly the point about Mixwell. If Mix wants to go assault-rifle as his main, they need to let him and find a dedicated awp'er who actually wants to be a dedicated awp'er as their new fifth. Hate to say it, because I think it would burn some nasty bridges, but CLG has the awp'er Optic needs.
