Red Reserve and EnVyUs to playoffs in Valencia
EnVyUs and Red Reserve have clinched the last two playoff berths at DreamHack Open Valencia 2017 after winning their decider matches.
In Group B Red Reserve stayed alive by eliminating NRG (2-1). The Swedes then squared off against another North American team—CLG—in the Group B decider match. Cobblestone was the first map and Red Reserve were dominant on the T-side, winning the first half 11-4. Mikail "Maikelele" Bill’s team closed out the map on the CT-side with 16-10 final scoreline.
Red Reserve kicked off Cache on the T-side and didn’t allow CLG to build any sustainable economy, leading 9-6 at halftime. On the CT-side, the Swedes won a 2vs3 in the pistol round, a 3vs4 in the second round, a 3vs5 in the third round (12-6). CLG came back in the second half and won the map 16-14 to take it to the third map.

CLG were about to win Mirage 16-12 as they were defusing the bomb and two of the Red Reserve players disconnected, and CLG started celebrating. However, Kenneth "koosta" Suen was defusing without a kit and time wasn't enough even though Pujan "FNS" Mehta could have finished it with his defuse kit. Red Reserve picked up the remaining two rounds to take the match to overtime.
CLG bounced back in the overtime and won all three CT-side rounds in the first half of overtime (18-15). koosta & company couldn't close it out on the T-side and the match went to another overtime (18-18). The overtime train continued as the teams were tied at 21-21 after the second overtime.
Red Reserve won the game 28-24, eliminating the North Americans. The Swedes will play HEROIC in the semi-finals.
