We had a quick chat with Jarosław "pashaBiceps" Jarząbkowski after Virtus.pro made quarter-finals with a win over Cloud9 in the fifth round. We asked the veteran about qualifying for playoffs after their recent results and getting to play in front of the home crowd again.

Virtus.pro have made it to quarter-finals with a 3-2 record, falling short to North earlier today on Mirage before taking down Cloud9 in the deciding match 16-10 on Train.

pasha hopes a lot of people will come to the arena to cheer for VP

We got a hold of Jarosław "⁠pashaBiceps⁠" Jarząbkowski for a quick interview about the Poles making playoffs, and getting to play in front of the home crowd again after disappointing to do so at IEM Katowice:

Talk me through the earlier North match in which you got very close but didn't manage to close it out, how did it go from your point of view?

It was very close, Snax was reading them very well, he told us what they were going to do as CT, what they're going to do as T, so we knew everything against them. It wasn't like Snax did bad calls, it was like our mistakes, each player made big mistakes. So it was a very close game, a few rounds, especially the last three rounds, it was like the biggest shit ever.

We have the advantage, but we play like silvers, because we have a bomb planted, 5v5, and we don't push CT, we don't push Z, we don't push connector, it's like our shoes have 100 kg weights on them. We needed to do something on the map, but we stayed and waited for kills. This is a good lesson for the future.

It must have felt great to qualify after all with that victory over Cloud9, especially after some of your previous results and the comments on Facebook afterwards, with you personally having a good performance...

We are in playoffs. Being legends is something special, because right now, in these times, going to the Major, playing online, Minors, it is so, so shit. It is a waste of time, preparing for enemies, but right now we have clean heads, to prepare for quarter-finals. And now we have BO3, because in BO1 right now, we are shit. But in the BO3 we have an advantage, I hope so.

And doing it to play in front of the home crowd again, after you didn't manage to do it at Katowice, what does that mean for you?

A lot of people are probably coming because of Virtus.pro, we're feeling this beautiful moment like in 2014. We play in the biggest arenas, in the biggest stages, and this will be the biggest arena and I hope a lot of people are coming and cheer for Virtus.pro.

Because a pracgroup works like that, you ask teams if they want to prac, and then they ask you. Sometimes you get your maps sometimes youll have to prac on enemy grounds.

Cold is the best player in the world. However, the MVPs of the last tournaments were fer and FalleN. FalleN is the mastermind behind everything and the best AWPer in the world, and fer is the best agressive player we have on CSGO. Felps and TACO might not be the stars, but they definitely do a lot for the team. Felps was the MVP against Immortals as well. It's pretty dumb to say SK is only coldzera. Any playrr from SK this year >>>> any player from virtus premier

You can laugh, but you can't deny his results. He's the best igl and still has some sick stats with the AWP. Usually tier 1 igls barely have 1.0 ratings, just check karrigan and gla1ve, top 2 and 3 before this major, then seized/MSL/Zeus. Also I didn't say TACO is the best entry and felps is the best support. But when you are winning pretty much every tournament, it's completely normal to have the best players on 3 roles. A lot of people complain there's no competition for SK. Let's see on the playoffs

No, your brain just isn't working fine. I said sick stats + winning tournaments, which are his results. That's why kennyS wasn't even top 5 in 2015, despite his amazing performances. And notice how I said tournaments, in plural, not a single tournament that didn't even end yet. FalleN won 4 of his last 5 tournaments, being the best AWP of at least 3 of them. That's why he's the best nowadays, there's no arguing. Pasha was just barely winning against tier 3 teams and getting rekt by tier 1~2 teams on that time. He's being good for one tournament, doesn't mean he's the best in the world, he needs a lot more to prove it, especially because VP were playing like a tier 3 team before this. Last decent tournament he won was 5 months ago

If a team is winning the majority of the tournaments and dominating the scene, it will probably have the best players in the world. FalleN is easily the best AWPer of the last months, fer is the best entry(he changes with TACO depending on the round), and coldzera the most complete player. SK have shown it for enough time now. That's what I said. I didn't say being good for one tournament, like pasha, will make you the best in the world. The tournament didn't even end yet to begin with
