After Gambit became the 11th Major's winners with a 2-1 win over Immortals, we talked to the Most Valuable Player of the tournament, Dauren "AdreN" Kystaubayev.

Gambit have become Major champions following a three-map grand final, which they started off with a crushing loss on Cobblestone before besting the Brazilians on Train and Inferno.

Dauren "⁠AdreN⁠" Kystaubayev gave us an interview after the grand final and talked us through some of the maps, the triumph, and plans for the future:

Nah bruh. Cobble is Gambits least played map next to their map bans. Cobble is also immortals best and most played map. Wasn't fazed at all, Gambit we're just warming up their mice.

Congrat guys you won the worst major of all time, one that I won't rewatch any of the games of or download any of the demos of, as a viewer i don't feel like i watched a major.. Cologne was a better tournament than this garbage and that makes me really sad cause I have a folder on my pc full of demos from previous majors and not being able to add a single game to that after this major really bothers me. Nevertheless congrats to them, it's still an achievement, it's still a major but I'm left here with nothing to fill the void.

I don't give a shit which team wins I only like high level competitive matches which this tournament had none of. Immortals vs Big was entertaining 2 clueless shit teams knifing each other all game, SK vs Astralis had potential but Astralis shit on SK and it wasn't even competitive this major was dog shit I can't put it any other way m8.

I thought a lot of the T2 teams made their mark this major so it was historic for them to come out and play their game and humble the top 5. This was a good major and this is coming from an era of fnatic domination where they would appear in the grand finals every single time that I almost stopped watching pro cs. This is high level competitive cs imo because where else are you going to get higher quality cs? This is the equivalent of saying oh this NBA finals was boring because there wasn't GSW vs Cavs for the 4th time in a row smh. I think you were disappointed because the T2 teams gave you and a majority of people a shock because you had expectations for something else so I do understand that.

I don't consider Immortals or Gambit a tier 2 team, Immortals won 2 international LANs last year and gambit had legend status from the last major without Zeus. I didn't get surprised the level of CS here fully shows how saturated this game is now. I think I'm just bored of this meta already, I want Dust2 back in the pool and Valve to make some changes so teams actually have to be creative and innovate again. Not all is bad thought The International is coming up soon and I'll have an actual good tournament to watch and the thing about Moba when your better than someone you can actually see the gap in skill ceiling from player to player, in CS Go the skill ceiling is so low everyone is god tier if they can aim and use their brain even a little bit, Go is becoming more and more like Source. So yeah part of this is the major was shit but another part is the game is shit as well. The last good game I can even remember from a major was last year SK vs Liquid actually one of the best games ever in a major, since then its been all downhill. It would be different if I just randomly fanboy some team but I'm not that type of fan I only want to see high level competitive CS Go matches I don't care which team wins or loses, when you go a full major without a single memorable game there is something wrong there imo.
