Yaman "yam" Ergenekon is looking to come back to activity, searching for a new team, the player announced via Twitter.

Yaman "⁠yam⁠" Ergenekon has been inactive since late March this year, when he stepped down from Renegades due to personal circumstances and returned home to Australia.

In his time with the team, the AWPer and later on in-game leader (after Chad "⁠SPUNJ⁠" Burchill departed Renegades) led the Australian side to a runners-up finish at DreamHack ZOWIE Open Winter 2016 and several more in the Asia-Pacific region.

yam has decided to return to the scene

After five months of inactivity, yam is now looking to come back as a player and is searching for new opportunities:

Nono guys guys... there are something you totally have missed. Shroud looks bad but he is the support player, and that means if anybory goes out baiting an Awp shot thats him if one need drop and he does not have money thats him. They dont let the " Stream" Shroud play and that is Why he looks bad:)

Maybe, certainly a better igl than Hiko, plus Rogue needs one with their 3 not too well known players and the new squad. Though it does require yam on joining Rogue, it's a definite possibility.

the renegades were definitely showing their dominance over the lower tiers again in the last month or two. It's why his departure came as such a shock to me before I understood why he actually left. He wasn't the best but he would do for a lower tiered team. Maybe they'd let him on the awp again as well, he was above average with it.

I think it's maybe more likely for Yam to replace Tucks on Chiefs (Because of his vac ban) Or maybe make a team with Havoc and Topgun, Deoxide is a free agent at the moment he's pretty decent and they could try get Zewsy to play again, If not Zewsy or Deoxide they have options like MoeycQ, Sonic, James, RaZ ect

yeah but who else do you think could igl in the turkish scene? before maj3r came, tugux was the igl and if we compare the two lineups, I think maj3r's igling made space soldiers better however still, we lack a lot of strategy. We lose to eco, forcebuyrounds by just rushing recklessly. We do not know how to play ct side and our mid round calls are insufficient. We also lack a rock solid awp which puts us in a big disadvantage. What we need is better igl and awper. Besides that paz, calyx, and xanteres are beasts.

It'd be good for the aus scene just because there'll be more of them spread across teams, which if they do well on said teams, will then draw attention towards other Australian players like liazz, infrequent, erkast, etc. that miss out on a lot of opportunities. Many orgs saw the potential in the Spanish scene when gBots put up numbers against fnatic and dignitas which ended up in mixwell joining optic and lowel going to penta. Would like the same thing to happen for players stuck in Australia.
