Former iBUYPOWER member Joshua "steel" Nissan will be taking part in the upcoming North American open qualifier for ESL One New York.

The 27-year-old has reunited with former Torqued teammates Trey "⁠tck⁠" Martin, Carey "⁠frozt⁠" Kertenian and Neil "⁠montE⁠" Montgomery for the qualifier, with Sam "⁠4sh0t⁠" Mariano and Ricky "⁠floppy⁠" Kemery making up the rest of this six-man squad.

Joshua "⁠steel⁠" Nissan is allowed to compete in ESL tournaments again after the tournament organiser decided to lift all-match fixing bans preceding February of 2015. In an interview with HLTV.org at Fragadelphia 11 , where he helped Bee's Money Crew to finish third, the player admitted that he simply wanted to find a team he could "have fun with".

steel will play for a spot in the ESL One NY closed qualifier

Up to 512 teams will take part in the open qualifier, which will run from August 14-15. The winner will advance to a closed stage, in which they will join the likes of Cloud9 and Immortals.
