ESEA restructures European leagues
ESEA has announced its 26th season with $150,000 in prize money, a LAN which will be announced at a later date, and most importantly a restructuring of some of the national leagues which will now feed into ESL's national championships.
Having recently revealed a grassroots initiative in which ESL's national championship winners are given spots into ESEA's MDL, ESEA has now revealed that they will split the national open division from the Pan-EU Intermediate and Main divisions.
The national open divisions will now feed directly into each country's national championship, with the exception of Russia and Turkey's open division which will still lead to ESEA's Intermediate and Main divisions as there is no clear partner running a national championship in the region.

With this change, teams from countries with national championships will be able to play their national open leagues which lead to ESL's national championships and end up feeding the ESEA MDL. Teams from countries with national open divisions will still be allowed to play the Pan-European leagues as well as their national leagues, concurrently.
These are the national open divisions and the national championships the winners will qualify for:
ESL Meisterschaft and German Open
The winner of the German Open division will qualify directly to the ESL Meisterschaft. The second and third place teams in German Open will play relegation matches against the 8th and 9th placed teams in the Meisterschaft with the winners qualifying to the ESL Meisterschaft.
ESL Premiership and United Kingdom Open
The winner from the UK Open division will qualify directly to the ESL Premiership. The 2nd, 3rd and 4th place teams in the UK Open League will play a relegation match versus the 5th/6th/7th placing teams in the ESL Premiership in order to qualify for the Premiership.
ESL Championnat National and France Open
The top 2 teams from the France Open division will qualify directly to the ESL Championnat National.
ESL Masters and Spain Open
We have launched a new Spain Open League for teams to take part in. The winner of the new Spain Open division will be entered into the relegation structure for the ESL Masters.
ESL Mistrzostwa Polski and Poland Open
We have launched a new Poland Open League for teams to take part in. The winner of the new ESEA Poland Open division will qualify directly to the ESL Mistrzostwa Polski League.
ESEA Russia and Turkey Open
For Season 26 we do not have a clear partner in the region yet for the Open division to qualify to so these Leagues will continue to qualify to the ESEA Intermediate and Main divisions for this upcoming season.
