Renegades stun Virtus.pro; Cloud9 overrun B.O.O.T-d[S]

Renegades and Cloud9 are through to the decider stage at DreamHack Masters Malmo after defeating Virtus.pro and B.O.O.T-dreamScape, respectively.

With Astralis and Natus Vincere through to the winners' match, Group B continued with the best-of-one elimination encounter, featuring Virtus.pro and Renegades.

Led by Karlo "⁠USTILO⁠" Pivac, the Australian team jumped out to a 6-0 lead on the Terrorist side as Virtus.pro looked helpless to stop their opponents' swift attacks. With Jarosław "⁠pashaBiceps⁠" Jarząbkowski and Filip "⁠NEO⁠" Kubski nowhere to be seen, the Polish team switched to a more aggressive style, only to be stunned by Aaron "⁠AZR⁠" Ward in two rounds in a row.

Renegades kept on pushing and eventually brought the scoreline to 9-0, forcing Virtus.pro to call a tactical pause. A double AWP setup from the Poles failed to pay off as the Australians were gifted three easy kills in A, but Janusz "⁠Snax⁠" Pogorzelski stepped up in the following round to give his team something to work with.

Renegades were simply too strong for Virtus.pro

However, they were unable to capitalise on that round win as they were swept aside by Renegades' A split thanks to two entry frags from Noah "⁠Nifty⁠" Francis. With the economy control and the momentum on their side, the Australians closed out the half with a stunning 14-1 lead.

An A push in the pistol round still gave Virtus.pro fans some hope, but Renegades responded in the first full gun round to hit match point. The Polish team still won a couple of close rounds, but a 1v2 clutch from USTILO sealed their fate in the competition.

Meanwhile, Cloud9 and BOOT-d[S] faced each other in Group A's elimination match. A successful force-buy from the Asian team in the fifth round ruined what was an otherwise perfect first half from the North Americans, who cruised to a 13-2 lead on the CT side.

Now playing on the Terrorist side, Cloud9 wrapped things up quickly, winning three rounds without response to advance to the decider stage, in which they will meet the loser of the match between SK and North.

Nah, I think you mixed up things. Boot-DS aren't from Poland (you write name of countries with capital letter by the way). They are from Singapore (colours are the same, but the flag is different, so that's a second mistake). Another thing is: you can't lose by having MORE points. You lose by having LESS points. If victory criterion is MORE points, then you can't lose 16 to 2, so you either mixed winning sides, or mixed the results. Remember - details matter. That's why certain people are successful and make a lot of money and ignorants/lazies make little money. You won't get a lot of money for a bad job.
