FaZe & fnatic march on in Malmö

FaZe and fnatic live to fight another day at DreamHack Masters Malmo after seeing off mousesports and EnVyUs, respective.

Group C's elimination match began with the new FaZe roster cruising to a 4-0 lead on the CT side. MOUZ then won a round they should not have, breaking through their opponents' defence on a force buy thanks to a triple kill from Tomáš "⁠oskar⁠" Šťastný, who would win a 1v2 clutch in the next round.

MOUZ then added two more rounds to their tally to tie up the score at 4-4, but, after calling a timeout, FaZe tightened up their defense, winning five of the next seven rounds to secure a 9-6 half-time lead.

FaZe bounce back after losing to NiP

Martin "⁠STYKO⁠" Styk came up huge in the pistol round as CT, picking up three kills and the defuse to give MOUZ their seventh round of the game. oskar's team would close the gap to a minimum, but once FaZe had money to work with it was all over for MOUZ as the Terrorists won six rounds straight to reach match point.

MOUZ still hung on to their tournament life a little longer, but then Nikola "⁠NiKo⁠" Kovač hammered the final nail into their coffins despite three great frags from oskar in the retake.

Meanwhile, fnatic and Envy faced off in the other elimination match, with the Swedes taking the lead on the CT side with a quad kill from Freddy "⁠KRIMZ⁠" Johansson inside A. Envy hit back in the next round, which marked the start of a great run from the Frenchmen. With their rounds coming few and far between, fnatic were limited to just six rounds in the first half.

The second half was the polar opposite. fnatic were in control for most of the half as Envy never managed to string more than two rounds together. The Swedish side also won a number of key force buys, constantly breaking Envy' economy and paving the way for a hard-fought 16-13 victory.

I hope olof will get better in this team, so far it's really dissappointing :/ But so far the first day of the tournament has to be expected. VP roster change is coming, NiP is back in form, FaZe will never be top1 again, SK are great so are Astralis. The most interesting teams at the moment are North and fnatic, seems like the roster changes helped, especially North has been looking great.

You could've seen that in the match against NiP, they are so clueless once they lose a fight or two. Their loose style of cs is going to be more punished if niko ever stops being a monster. I should maybe correct myself, they will never be top1, if olof doesn't show up big time.

i think with olof they have to change the style a bit,or maybe karrigan is trying to transform olof in a monster kind of support player...all i know is that if 2 of them is on fire in a match, one (rain olof niko) can do a more supportive role ifu wanna stretch it .i wouldve like to see them with kio performing well ,he was doing some work without the kills although...well... karrigan knows better :)))

I think nuke especially is one of the maps that new teams needs time to develop. The rotations has to be good, and communication clean.

rpk is good but makes too many mistakes + he doesn't fit that well in envyus. Sometimes even best player can bring team down because of not fitting well :/

True. He is a really good sometimes but hasn't showed up lately. Maybe he's focusing too much on leading and not letting the superstars play the way they feel comfortable. Not sure, but he is good.
