Liquid edge past BIG in Mykonos

The match began with BIG getting out to a quick 4-0 lead after successfully pushing the A site in both the pistol round and the first full gun round. Liquid then replied with only a few CZs, but they could not build on that as BIG hit back immediately thanks to two great frags from Johannes "⁠tabseN⁠" Wodarz.

Liquid's economy was now in shambles, but they still managed to secure a round, courtesy of three quick kills from Russel "⁠Twistzz⁠" Van Dulken in the canal. That was the start of a phenomenal run from the North Americans, who kept their defense very tight until the end of the half, taking took nine rounds.

Liquid were overrun on their way to the B site in the second half's pistol round, with BIG also winning the subsequent anti-ecos to restore parity at 9-9. Peter "⁠stanislaw⁠" Jarguz then came up huge and clutched a 1v4 situation in the first full gun round thanks to a clumsy spray from Nikola "⁠LEGIJA⁠" Ninić.

BIG did not let that massive blunder get to them and put their foot down, winning two rounds in a row to take a narrow 11-10 lead. There was not much that BIG could do for a while as Liquid won five rounds in a row to hit match point, but then the Germans tightened up their defense. It looked like the match would go to overtime, but a last-gasp effort from Liquid earned them their 16th round.
