mousesports beat Liquid to win ESG Tour Mykonos

After a five-hour marathon, mousesports have won ESG Tour Mykonos following a hard-fought 3-2 win over Team Liquid.

The best-of-five title decider began on Cobblestone, where mousesports drew first blood after a successful B execution in the pistol round. After taking both anti-ecos, the European team remained in the driving seat, which propelled them into a 7-1 lead, with Martin "STYKO" Styk leading the charge.

After a long technical pause, Liquid halted mousesports' momentum with a B stack on eco. That round sparked a great for the North Americans, who won four of the next five rounds before Robin "ropz" Kool gave his team their ninth round of the game with three entry frags in B.

The second half was a complete blowout, with mousesports winning six of the first seven rounds to hit match point. Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski still gave Liquid a lifeline with three kills in a desperate B push, but the Europeans took the next round to secure the first map of the series.

mousesports have won their first event with the new roster

Next up was Inferno, where Liquid won the pistol round despite losing control of the A site as mousesports ran out of time to defuse the bomb. The North American team followed that up with both anti-ecos, but once mousesports had money in the bank the flow of the game changed slightly as the CTs quickly tied up the score at 3-3.

mousesports then got punished for their overaggression in banana, allowing Liquid to regain control of proceedings. The rest of the half would be a one-way street as Peter "stanislaw" Jarguz's men won seven rounds straight before the CTs bagged the final round.

Liquid further added to their lead by winning the pistol round and the following anti-ecos, bringing the score to 14-4. The first full gun round then went mousesports' way, but Liquid hit back immediately with a quad kill from EliGE in B before wrapping things up with another round.

EliGE and jdm stepped up on Inferno

Map three, Train, began with mousesports getting slaugthered on their way to the B site in the pistol round. The Europeans were unfazed by that round, however, and rallied back on a force-buy. mousesports twice took a two-round lead - the second time thanks to an ace from STYKO - but they could not stamp their authority on the game, allowing Liquid to regain control.

Until the end of the half, mousesports struggled to string any rounds together, with Liquid taking nine rounds with them before switching to the Terrorist side.

Miikka "suNny" Kemppi opened up the second half with three kills as mousesports stopped Liquid's push towards the outer site. That was the start of a dominant run from mousesports, who kept their defense very tight and locked down the map without dropping a single round in the half.

STYKO was a nuisance to Liquid on Train

On Mirage, Liquid came out of the looking scary, winning eight rounds straight as mousesports had no response to the Terrorists' pace. It was only then that the CTs managed to react, winning four of the next five rounds, with Tomáš "oskar" Šťastný appearing to have finally woken up after clutching a 1v2 situation.

The momentum was now shifting towards mousesports, but the European team fell apart following an eco push from Liquid, who would go on to win the next round to increase their lead to 11-4.

mousesports came out of the break determined to turn the score around. Twice they brought the deficit to a minimum and twice they it slip away against a full eco side. That was the tonic that propelled Liquid to hit map point, with a last-gasp effort from mousesports proving fruitless.

Liquid's eco rounds prevented mousesports from taking Mirage

It all came down to Nuke, which began with mousesports cruising to a 9-0 lead on the CT side. Liquid's offense then finally came to life, but they still only managed to claim four rounds before the sides switched.

mousesports piled more misery on Liquid by taking the pistol round as Terrorist and the following two rounds. With a 1v2 clutch from oskar, the European team reached championship point - an opportunity they did not pass up.

he is it's expected that awpers get good stats even if they aren't doing well, the way stats work and how they're expected to save they will always get a decent adr (since awp is a 1 shot 1 kill) and have a positive rating even if they're not doing shit. if they're not (like jdm who sported a .88 lan rating for like half a year this year) it means something's really fucking wrong. but he's inconsistent and whiffs half the time and he really can't use rifles so he's a overall negative, liquid basically plays 4 vs 5 whenever he doesn't have an awp in his hand. if you can't use rifles even at a AVERAGE level and force your team into a 4 vs 5 whenever they are losing/have bad economy/eco and singlehandely make your team's force buys into mediocre shit because you're dragging them down (and your team is scared or hesitant to force buy because they know you can't do shit when it's 5 ak's and you got one in your hand) then you better be playing like prime kennyS. Which JDM is not even close to, half the time he struggles to be a mediocre/average awper WHILE being a liability that is a bot with other guns. dude is a straight liability and a relic of the past, every team's awper has a decent rifle these days and runs 5 m4/ak force buys and with jdm liquid is never going to reach the next level. He's basically one of those "win more" type of players, if you're winning he will help you "win more" in a game that they would have won regardless of him (since he will be able to afford the awp the whole game), but if they're losing or trying to come back JDM is a straight deadweight since they have to play 4 vs 5 many rounds when they can't afford awp meaning jdm is useless which leads to more round losses and broken economy which goes into a cycle meaning liquid is going to have a hard fight climbing back.

TLDR: jdm is a bot who can't use rifle and is a mediocre awper on top of that so he is a big liability for his team.
