NiP eliminate Virtus.pro in Atlanta

NiP have sent Virtus.pro packing from ELEAGUE CS:GO Premier following a 2-0 win (Overpass 16-8, Train 16-5) in the elimination match of Group C.

The elimination match of Group C in Atlanta began on Ninjas in Pyjamas's pick, Overpass, where the Swedes got off to a flying start, plowing through Virtus.pro's defense with little trouble.

After 10 rounds of play, the Poles finally grabbed their first on the back of a small economic investment, only pistols and kevlars, and went on a three-round streak thanks to Filip "NEO" Kubski's quad-kill in restrooms afterward.

Early picks then gave Ninjas in Pyjamas their 11th round, before Virtus.pro closed out the half with just four rounds on the defense. Janusz "Snax" Pogorzelski's 1v1 clutch put his team back in contention, as they survived the first four rounds of the second half without taking much damage.

NiP move on to the deciding match against EnVyUs

With a saved AWP from Ninjas in Pyjamas's first full buy, Patrik "f0rest" Lindberg grabbed a triple and won his team the next eco, which set off a streak of five rounds going the way of the Swedish side, who defended the B bombsite three times in a row for a 16-8 win on map one.

Train began with Fredrik "REZ" Sterner's triple in defense of the B bombsite, which gave Ninjas in Pyjamas the opportunity to run away with another great start, this time 5-0 before Virtus.pro found a reply.

However, a quick reset sent the Polish squad on low economy. Ninjas in Pyjamas kept winning the gunrounds and sent their opponents on ecos over and over until it was 12-1. Paweł "byali" Bieliński then put up four kills for VP's second round, but William "draken" Sundin's 1v1 against the same player made the halftime score a dominant 13-2 in favor of the Swedes.

NEO's triple in the second pistol round saved Virtus.pro's chances, but they only added one more round on top, while Ninjas in Pyjamas quickly reached match point on the back of triples from f0rest and draken on each bombsite. byali's heroics in a retake scenario only delayed the loss, as Ninjas in Pyjamas closed it out 16-5 with a quick A attack.

It's been less than a week since the players swapped their roles again. Snax wasn't even close to his normal form. Give them some time to settle back in first. If they haven't made headway by end of the year, they should disband.

They NEED to consider roster changes... NiP's slump lasted the entirety of 2015, clearly the VP of old is not working anymore. Consider Team Kinguin talent BADLY Virtus.Pro...

Yeah exactly. Rallen is also a very good option. They need to do something about what is going on currently, however. They're only going to make their reputation worse.

Yes, VP is playing terrible and low-tier CS at the moment. Yes, older players like Taz and NEO are massively underperforming. Even young stars like Byali haven't been playing at or above their potentials. Only Pasha and Snax have been playing well during this "slump", if that's what you want to label it. What is certain is that changes need to be made, which possibly entails roster changes. On one hand, this would be very disappointing because they are one of the longest running, same roster teams in all of CS. They have established a brotherhood that many of us will never understand as spectators and fans. On the other hand, a new roster might bring a new dawn of success from a many year old roster. It is saddening to see many insulting and inflammatory comments directed at the VP players. You are all entitled to your opinion, many being that VP should make roster changes (which has much merit and is certainly valid); however, we should all respect and show decency towards the players on this roster not for their organization or affiliations, but for the great moments and experiences they have given to us, as well as the countless hours they work doing something they love. This also applies to any other team, be it NIP, LG/SK, FaZe, Fnatic, and all other teams I failed to mention. In the end, all players are human beings with their own lives who happen to love CS, much like ourselves. Whatever team/players you support, I hope you can still understand my message and perhaps even agree. If not, still have a great day.

Virtus.Pro is a legendary team. No doubt. But now is time to end this story, in my opinion. Some old players can continue their careers in lower teams, with different ambitions. Younger like Snax can continue with a new VP. I think they can pick two players from Kinguin, MICHU and mouz that i think are good, and keep with Snax and Pasha. Bialy is young but it seems not good enough... So...this line-up? Snax, Pasha, MICHU, Mouz + another polish member or one more from this VP.

Sad days. Really. English stream had some interesting thoughts about VP's roster. The commentators realize that VP member have some obligations outside games - meaning families and they simply cannot commit themselves to CSGO. They also said that having such a long contract makes them (VP) feel confident about financial future regardless of results. I said that in the past regarding VP's results, but I am wondering how much can VP's boss allow them to? R.Lewis said (IIRC) that this madness has to stop as it's detrimental to VP as a brand. And he is so right. Either VP focus on game (as this is their job) or just find another employer.
