EnVyUs to ELEAGUE Premier playoffs over NiP

EnVyUs have assured their place in the ELEAGUE Premier 2017 playoffs after defeating Ninjas in Pyjamas 2-1 (9-16 on Cobblestone, 16-9 on Cache and 16-6 on Nuke).

The decider match of Group C in Atlanta kicked off with Ninjas in Pyjamas picking up the Terrorist pistol on their opponents' map pick, Cobblestone, and following it up with both anti-ecos and first gun round. From that point, the Swedes kept increasing their lead, securing a total of ten rounds without a response.

It was only then that Vincent "Happy" Schopenhauer's men managed to find a lifeline in the map by losing only one out of the remaining five rounds, meaning that they would get to half-time with four rounds to their name.

Now playing as Counter-Terrorists, a successful pistol round opened a way for the Swedish team to eventually hit 14 rounds. Envy still tried to find a method to turn the map around by winning five more rounds, but Ninjas in Pyjamas went on to close out Cobblestone, 16-9.

RpK had an impressive performance throughout the series

On Cache, Ninjas in Pyjamas's map, the Frenchmen got off to a flying start after securing the T-side pistol, and getting through the Swedish defense in the following six rounds. Richard "Xizt" Landström's squad were then able to respond with their first two rounds, and, from that point, they would eventually reduce the deficit to 8-7 by half-time.

The second half saw Envy pick up their second pistol round of the series, and follow it up in the subsequent anti-eco thanks to an ace from Alexandre "xms" Forté that included a 1v2 clutch. Then, with an 11-7 advantage, a trio of kills from Adil "ScreaM" Benrlitom led his team to a 13-7 lead.

Ninjas in Pyjamas would stop Envy' momentum with two rounds in their favour, but there was little that they could do as Cédric "RpK" Guipouy and co. won three in a row to lock down the map, 16-9, and take the series to a third map.

NiP have been eliminated from ELEAGUE

Starting out as CTs on the decider map, Nuke, Envy got to an early 3-0 lead following a successful pistol and anti-ecos. Despite Ninjas in Pyjamas picking up the gun round, Happy's team did not let their opponents string any rounds together, and went on to grab a 6-1 score.

The Swedes then secured their second round of the game, but, once again, they could not follow it up. Moreover, until half-time, Envy had a nearly-flawless performance, losing only the penultimate round of the first half.

As the French squad won their fourth pistol round of the clash, it appeared like Envy would easily close out the series, but then Ninjas in Pyjamas found some breathing room after picking up a force-buy. Still, Christophe "SIXER" Xia and his teammates did not let a comeback happen and closed out the map, 16-6, to secure their place in the ELEAGUE Premier playoffs.

Well NiP have at least looked like a functional team recently at Malmo, so people at least thought they could play well against these teams.

Nip make a change, and they look like a functional team for a few weeks or a month, before going back to being bad,and waiting for the next roster change,VP does that without changing rosters... But there's no coming back this time for VP..

I would say that nV and C9 also haven't looked better than NiP has which is why they were expected to win this group.

Thing is is that ska had a good week add that to the other talent on the team and you can see why the 16-6 16-2 but to add to that context the overall skill on c9 far outweighs the skill on nip this isn't 2014 and sadly the guy who gave nip that nip magic was frieberg every-time they had an inconceivable game he was the guy who stepped up not xizt and with xizt poor decisions in pick ban you would've know just based on talent that c9 would most likely take this even without ska having a good week. The nv one is more reasonable in the disbelief.

Haha, it's funny how the casters are still praising VP. "They have the toughest players", "They've come back from 11-4 before" Like bitch, they've been playing like shit for half year, get over it already.

Someone is frustrated right there And I don't think NiP is in a slump. You remember their run at Malmö? Of course it was in front of their home crowd, but they beat Gambit, FaZe on a bo1, and NaVi to get into semi final. VP, yes, is in a slump, but don't be a "bad loser".

I understand cache but that 1 round on nuke changed everything. Like they get site and kill a guy and who was that, xmx just running straight and klilling 2 guys from behind and then it started. Usually 1 guy watches for ramp loby push but nobody did it. And then instead of making them eco they get rekt
