Kings withdraw from CGPL Spring

Kings have pulled out of AOC CyberGamer Premier League Spring to focus on the upcoming Asia Minor, and have received a two-season ban from all CyberGamer events as a result, the Australian organizer announced.

With two international events — Asia Minor and eXTREMESLAND — lined up at the end of this month, Kings have made the decision to withdraw from the Australian league, which features the top teams in the Oceanic region including Chiefs, Grayhound, and Tainted Minds.

The news comes after the squad confirmed their spot to the Asia Minor, which meant Kings would have limited time to complete their remaining online matches in CGPL with ESEA Premier and ZEN League also taking up the rest of their packed schedule.

Kings will miss out on qualifying for CGPL Championships in December

According to CyberGamer's rulebook for the Professional division, Kings' early exit will prevent them from playing in any of CyberGamer's events until next year:

"2.9 - Leaving The League Early
Teams may not exit the league early under any circumstances, doing so will result in a two season ban for all players on the roster."

The tournament organizer has made the following decision:

"In order to maintain competitive integrity for the CGPL and all teams that remain in the League, all matches against Kings GC have been updated to reflect a 2-0 win for the opposing team."

An apology from Kings' coach Matt "dayV1D" David was included in the announcement:

"We have recently been invited to the Asian Minor, which is directly after our event in China for ZOWIE eXTREMESLAND. After looking at our schedule and trying to make it all work, we came to the sad conclusion that we cannot finish this season of CGPL."

"We are extremely sorry that we have to do this, but with the surrounding circumstances that have fallen on us, we see no other option."

"As a result of this, we accept any consequences that may come of this decision, and whatever the result, we still thank you for allowing us into your league in the first place."

2 seasons ban is harsh, atleast they should have banned them for one Season. Who wants to miss a MINOR invite though.

Was expecting this after the Asia Minor got announced and Zen got pushed as a result. Have to pick and choose, and IMO, they made the right choice.

I don't get it. They're never getting to the major but chose that over something they might actually profit from? No sense AU brain

Expected idiot comment from Brazil flag but not from Europe! For these guys who mostly only play local lans a CHANCE at the fucking major is far more important than another local tournament. Is it worth it to throw away a chance to qualify for the major (even if it's small) just to attend another local tournament that happens more and more often nowadays?! Even just the Asia minor is far more important as they will get to face some different teams for a change.

There is a 0% chance they will even get to the qualifier. They are just throwing away potential money that will stop the organisation from kicking them.

The increased publicity from a spot at the Minor, and possible spot at a major qual is worth more than the like $4000 they'd get from winning CGP.

AU brain. There is legitimately a 0 (ZERO)% chance they make the qualifier 4000 is worth more than the wasted money on travel and accommodation to the minor.

Nah. Kings have minor and extremenesland as well. Kings seem to be favoring International tournaments rather than local. Couple good results and maybe top 30-40
