dupreeh shines as Astralis take down fnatic in ELEAGUE Premier

Astralis bested fnatic 2-0 in the second quarter-final at ELEAGUE Premier (Train 16-5, Overpass 16-12) to advance to the semi-finals.

The series began on fnatic's pick of Train, one of the better maps for both teams. The Swedes pulled off a successful fake, but Astralis completed the retake and took the pistol round. fnatic sported a majority Galil buy on round 3, but were unable to put themselves on the board after a nice Popdog hold by Peter "dupreeh" Rasmussen.

In the fourth round, Maikil "Golden" Selim smartly won the 1v1 against Andreas "Xyp9x" Højsleth to win his team's force-buy, but fnatic were unable to convert their round and were economically reset.

Astralis continued their CT side domination, racking up eight rounds off of great play from dupreeh, until Golden pulled off a superb 4K to take over the B bombsite and give fnatic their second round. The last few rounds were back and forth, but ultimately the Danes closed out the half with a 12-3 lead.

The second half started with a clean retake by fnatic on the inner site. They then won their first consecutive round as well on the anti-force buy, but were unable to win the first gun round, falling to a fast play by the Astralis guys. fnatic was unable to hold either site, and Astralis just picked apart Golden's team to take the first map 16-5.

Astralis through to the last-four stage

Astralis's pick, Overpass, began with another fnatic retake onto the B site, which earned them their first round. Following the pattern of the last map, Astralis won the following round off of some good picks by dupreeh, and tried to set up their economy for the half, but some amazing Deagle kills from Freddy "KRIMZ" Johansson in the next round swung the momentum back in fnatic's favor.

The Danes eventually won the back and forth battle, giving themselves a two-round lead. After a timeout, fnatic decided to go for a double-AWP setup, and it paid off, with Jesper "JW" Wecksell's men picking up a third round. A clumsy 1v1 between JW and dupreeh resulted in yet another round going to fnatic, giving the Swedes something to work with. A critical 1v2 clutch from dupreeh on the A site with an AWP propelled his team to with their eighth round, with Astralis following that up with one more round to finish off the first half 9-6.

Nicolai "device" Reedtz and Xyp9x kicked off the second half with two kills each and executed a successful retake to secure their team their second pistol round for the series. Astralis secured the first three rounds of the half, but fnatic won an eco round to put themselves up to 7.

After finally forcing Astralis onto an eco, Golden's men strung together multiple rounds and reduced their round deficit to only two rounds. On the full buy in the 23rd round, fnatic fairly easily took the B site, putting Astralis in a tough situation and furthering their comeback effort. Lukas "gla1ve" Rossander called for a force buy the next round, and after some masterful picks from device, the Danes put themselves back into the driver's seat. After a few back and forth rounds, Astralis finally pulled away and locked down the map, 16-12.

Yea gotta agree with you mate! Fnatic played rly bad on train, don't know why they picked it when they were that bad on it. CT side on Overpass from them was also really sloppy. Only T side from fnatic was the time when it became really competetive imo

Indeed. There is still a lot of things they need to work on. HOWEVER - I am sure they can become a very viable contestant for the tier 1 competition again, just let Golden and Lekr0 develop, and have Flusha and JW + Krimz go back to a decent level again (JW is already there, Flusha is getting there and Krimz is definitely working for it still). Boom.

I hope so! I'm hoping for a FaZe vs Astralis final now and I hope it'll be really entertaining to watch.

Could be great. If it's going to be C9 vs FaZe, I have a feeling FaZe is going to duke it out with an ez 2-0. However... North vs C9, or North vs Astralis could be a possibility too.

I guess Astralis should make it definitely! Either North or FaZe against Astralis could definitely be a 2-1 for either team with close maps. Would be exiting to watch that.

Whats wrong with having VP as my favourite ? Atleast they dont hack. They are shit ONLINE and on LAN. They dont go around headshotting people online and turn into bunny rabbits on lan, with silver aim.... And coming to the achievements parts...VP has been way more successful than fnatic .... Remind me what was the last event fnatic won or was relevant at... ?

They have been Tier 2 since March 31 in 2016, which is approximately 19 months and counting. Did you skip 2016 and 2017 or did you live under a rock during this time? They did not recently become a Tier 2 team
