Astralis take down Cloud9, to ELEAGUE Premier final
Astralis are the first grand finalist of ELEAGUE Premier 2017 after defeating Cloud9 on three maps(12-16 on Mirage, 16-14 on Overpass and 16-4 on Inferno) in the last-four stage.
The first semi-final of the ELEAGUE Premier playoffs started on Mirage, Cloud9's map pick, and saw Astralis win the Counter-Terrorist pistol thanks to a quad-kill from Nicolai "device" Reedtz. The Danes should have seized the chance and taken a sizeable lead, but the North Americans hit back immediately and strung five rounds together.
After getting their second round of the game on the board, the Danish giants were reset once again. Down 2-9, Astralis finally tightened up their defense, securing three rounds in a row, but then Tarik "tarik" Celik gave Cloud9 their 10th round of the game with a 1v2 clutch.
In the second half, the North American squad won the first two rounds, but bomb plants from Astralis on both occasions allowed the Danes to be fully equipped in the next round. And even though Cloud9 found the two opening kills, Peter "dupreeh" Rasmussen and Andreas "Xyp9x" Højsleth clutched a 2v5, with the 24-year-old getting four frags to his name.
Lukas "gla1ve" Rossander's men were only able to follow it up with three more rounds, but then Cloud9 responded with three rounds in a row to hit match point. In the next round, the North American team came close to finishing off the map, but a 1v3 clutch from Xyp9x kept his team in the race. Still, the North Americans were not fazed by Astralis' attacks, and closed out the map with a tight B hold.

With a three-man stack up at long, Cloud9 grabbed the Counter-Terrorist pistol on Overpass, courtesy of a quad-kill from Timothy "autimatic" Ta. Astralis would turn things around by winning a force-buy, but the game would turn out to be a keenly-contested affair as neither side could stamp their authority over the other.
Jake "Stewie2K" Yip denied dupreeh a 1v3 clutch in the 13th round, leaving the Danes strapped for cash for the final stages of the half, Still, they managed to win the remaining two rounds, taking a narrow 8-7 lead into the break.
An impressive ace from autimatic in the second pistol, which included a 1v3 post-plant clutch with three clean USP-S headshots, set his team up for a 10-8 lead. Astralis then won the first full gun round, but they could not follow it up, giving Cloud9 the chance to string three more rounds together.

Astralis then found a lifeline as Xyp9x clutched a 1v2 situation. That key action swung the momentum back in Astralis' favour, with the Danish giants winning six of the next seven rounds to seal a hard-fought 16-14 victory and take the series to a third map.
The decider map was Inferno, where Astralis got off to a flying start on the CT side as they cruised to an overwhelming 14-1 lead after giving Cloud9 very little room to operate throughout the half.
The North Americans refused to throw in the towel, and picked up the CT pistol and the subsequent two rounds. But after buying up, gla1ve's squad regained control of proceedings, winning back-to-back rounds to take the map, 16-4, and seal passage to the grand final.
