Xyp9x: "We read [Cloud9 on Inferno], they did the exact same thing they did against G2"

Following an exciting series against Cloud9, HLTV.org caught up with Andreas "Xyp9x" Højsleth to hear about their struggles on the first two maps and closing out the series on the decider, Inferno.

The first semi-final of the day started with the American side winning Mirage, and Tarik "⁠tarik⁠" Celik's side went on to have a strong Overpass as well. However, Astralis woke up towards the end of the game and chained together six rounds to take the series to Inferno.

On the decider map, Cloud9 were unable to get much map control, with the Danes reading the situations correctly to secure a 16-4 win and move on to the grand final.

Shortly after the match, Andreas "⁠Xyp9x⁠" Højsleth admitted that some misplays had him frustrated, but that his team's strong mental fortitude kept them in the match.

I like how everyone is talking shit after c9 2 -0ed g2 (expected to lose) then almost 2 0 astralis if it weren't for xyp hiding monster that 1 round (in a series and map no one gave them a chance on) to the current number 1 or 2 in the world depending on where you place faze. Rip salty haters
