Space Soldiers withdraw from SL i-League Invitational Shanghai

Space Soldiers have announced that they will skip the StarLadder i-League Invitational event in Shanghai due to a schedule conflict.

The announcement follows Space Soldiers' qualification for the European Minor, an event that will run at the same time as the SL i-League competition, after beating Binary Dragons, HellRaisers and ex-Outlaws in Sunday's closed qualifier.

The Turkish giants had booked their spot at the Chinese event after winning the European qualifier with a 2-0 victory over HAVU in the grand final.

Space Soldiers will skip the SL i-League event to attend the Minor

Eight teams will be in attendance at the StarLadder i-League Invitational Shanghai, which will run from November 2-5 and feature $150,000 in prize money.

Contacted by HLTV.org, a Starladder official stated that the organisation is currently in talks with potential replacements for Space Soldiers, with more news expected shortly.

The team list for the Chinese event currently looks as follows:

no they're not. Individual talent on the team is very high. Better teamwork and better strats would make them a tier 1 team imo

hooch is tier10 so nt. But in all fairness, I agree with him a lot in what he's saying. There's such a complete lack of care from organizers and from valve that is really shameful. The one thing that annoys me the most is that the CIS region can't play their own minor in their own region. It's fucking ridiculous.

hooch being tier 10 atm or the fact that he was a quarterfinalist at a previous major is irrelevant. Someone like Richard Lewis or Thoorin or SirScoots would be tier 99 if they were pro players nonetheless they are some of the most respected authorities when it comes to CS:GO. And arguably hooch is the absolute authority when it comes to CIS region since he is the definition of a seasoned veteran. It was ridiculous for Valve to think it was OK to hand the most important qualifiers of CS:GO to CEVO and announce the dates 1 week prior to actual qualifiers and that's my point. Don't even get me started about Asia not even getting open qualifiers.
