fnatic, Liquid invited to DreamHack Winter

fnatic and Liquid have been invited to compete at DreamHack Winter, the event's organisers have announced.

The Swedish squad and the North American side, respectively the No.12 and the No.8 team in the world at the moment, have secured the first invitations to play at the iconic DreamHack event, which will run from December 1 to 3 at the Elmia Convention Center., in Jönköping.

The duo will be joined by four other invitees, with the final two spots being determined by online qualifiers, which will be held in Europe and in North America from November 11-12.

fnatic will compete in Jönköping in December

The DreamHack Winner champion will take home the bulk of the tournament's $100,000 prize pool, succeeding Gambit, who won the 2016 edition after defeating Renegades in the final.

If only they would have done it when they had success. Now it's probably more out of necessity because they probably won't win much else.

Even without winning anything this year fnatic has only gone to one other small event which DH Summer which is also held on sweden. Everything other tournament they participated are 250k+ events.

I know, and now they're being forced to participate in lower tier tournaments. It sucks, but that's the way it is right now. I hope they continue doing so, even if they start to find their form. imo, and you probably disagree, but anyone outside of top 10 should really be accepting whatever invites to whatever DH they can, and maybe even the IBP tournaments.

They are not forced to go to small events. Flusha said on stream that they only go to important events only when I asked about whether he is going for that 2v2 event. This is a bigger event than normal DH open tournament and its also in their country. Thats why they are going to this. They also gone for this event last year with godsent. If you look at fnatics events this year, the only small events they gone in this year are DH Summer and Winter which are both in their country and WESG which has a 1.5M pricepool. Fnatic is not desperate to go for small events to win. Even if they are not winning, they are qualifying for big evenrs.
