Renegades defeat TyLoo 2-0; win Asia Minor

Renegades take the Asia Minor title over TyLoo after two closely contested maps (Cache 16-14, Train 16-12).

The Chinese side started with a 4-1 lead on their map pick, Cache, before allowing Renegades an early foothold by dropping the ball against an eco B rush. The Australians then took it to just a single round difference before Hansel "BnTeT" Ferdinand showed up with a hat trick to get things rolling for TYLOO again.

After picking their fourth round, Renegades weren't able to close out the 1v2 against HaoWen "somebody" Xu which lead to them being reset and TYLOO going up to 9-4. That is when Keith "NAF" Markovic opened up the B site on the lurk, single-handedly winning them the round, but Renegades were unable to capitalize on their opponent's weak buy in the follow-up as somebody clutched another 1v2 to make it 10-5.

Adding the second pistol made it look like it was all set for TYLOO to take map one, but it didn't turn out that way. Renegades brought it back from a 13-5 deficit as their defenses held strong against TYLOO's fast-paced, execute-heavy rounds. The Chinese side slowed it down as the score was 13-11, Vladyslav "bondik" Nechyporchuk and BnTeT got some picks, but the round was lost to Noah "Nifty" Francis—who had another great round and picked up a 4K on A.

TYLOO was able to add another round after Renegades got to match point, and in the end Ke "captainMo" Liu and co. looked poised to take it into overtime as they took control of B. However, NAF showed up with three kills, resolving the 1v2 to finish it 16-14.

Renegades win their second consecutive Asia Minor

Once again TYLOO pick up the pistol round, starting as CT's on Train, but Renegades were the ones to take the early lead. What could've been a great half was compromised by sloppy play from the Australian side, as they lost equipment unnecessarily in round 8 (5-3) and then failed an anti-eco on A in the following one.

With Renegades' money in tatters, TYLOO took control of the first half and finished it with a 9-6 lead as captainMo closed out the final round with the AWP in ivy.

Another strong CT side from Renegades followed after the switch, spearheaded by NAF who picked up doubles round after round. The Canadian added a crucial clutch in round 25 that gave his side the lead and Renegades were able to close it out from there, making the score 16-12 on Train and 2-0 for the series.

Asia minor is a joke. These two teams have a granted spot at the major qualifier and we all know they suck against good teams. The minor system has to be reworked.

I wouldn’t say Tyloo is granted the spot seeing they almost lost to flash if anything it’s better to have the Asia Minor because it gives Asian teams a chance

Yeah but is the major supposed to be like a world championship where every region has a chance of qualifying even if the teams are bad, or is the Major a tournament amongst the TOP teams in CS? That is the question. There is NO WAY that either renegades or tyloo get out of the major qualifier (and if they do, no chance they get out of groups).

you have to look at this from valves perspective. ultimately all these things are done to gain exposure and money.

there should always be two spots for Asian teams because it creates more exposure and potentially more viewers from the Asian region. also RNG can play well against good teams, especially this lineup, but i'd be silly to say that they can do well against the best of the best. also if there weren't two spots at the Asian minor then how could their scene grow? how could these players evolve and become better? yes, they're not that great yet but you have some outstanding players out there, just look at some of the guys from tyloo and flash. I'm pretty sure if rng was in the na qual instead they would still make it to the major qual.

Read my #17 response. I agree with you but then the meaning of MAJOR tournament is different from what it's supposed to be. Tyloo and rng are not top teams, they have still a lot to prove, and call me biased but EU teams that are left out of even the minor would have more chance than them at the major qualifier.

Firstly CIS is worse than the Asia minor, Secondly i truly believe Renegades can make the major, Since Naf joining they have been looking solid, He was a great addition to this team

Gambit came from the CIS minor a while ago and won the last major. Vega qualified for the last major which is one more than asia ever has. The 4 best CIS teams are in the major qualifier, so Asia is definitely not better.

Not under the minor system made by Valve which brought in the CIS region qualifiers.

Katowice 2015 had CIS minors and an all region main qualifier and Vox qualified through that. I'm sure that's what you meant because you think that Asian teams never qualified other than through their own Asian qualifier.

When majors used to have spots reserved for asian teams you guys complain about it. Then valve change the format to have the main qualifier and 2 spots are given to asian teams as a solution to the feedback you people still complain about it. What do you people want? Make csgo majors exclusive to european and american teams only?

No, but the level of the game is so much higher now. You cannot be blind and completely ignore that a team like tyloo basically has a free spot at the major qualifier just because they come from asia...

Who are you to say that tyloo dont deserve spot on the major qualifier if they qualify through the asia minor? It is not their fault that they are the second best team around the region. It is true that different minors have different level of competitiveness but it is what it is. Looking at the bright side, teams coming from a more competitive minor will be stronger.

As I stated before, the problem is defining what a major is. Is a major like a world championship where every region has an equal chance of qualifying? Then ok, nothing against tyloo and RNG having an easy way into the major qualifier. Is the major the biggest tournament of the year amongst the top teams? Well it would be in theory, but the qualifying+minor system means that it's just some sort of world cs championship.

Because that's the only way I see that you will stop complaining like a little bitch. Handpick the absolute top 16 teams right?
2017-10-29 11:45

Or would you rather have them go through months of qualifiers just so they find the absolute best teams possible?
2017-10-29 11:46

Yes the major is where the best teams play but if they win in the major qualifier then they have proved themself as a good enough team to make the major. If they bomb out in the major qualifier then what is the problem? Are you scared nV are gonna lose to tier 3 teams in the EU minor again?

In all honesty if we were to remove the Asian minor then where the hell do the Asian teams go. Your statement is dumb dude just because it has been a guaranteed spot for RNG and Tyloo doesn’t mean it should be removed. New teams are making a stage in the Asia Minor your just too blind too see it.

Renegades didn't show up at all this major except during the tyloo vs renegades 1-2 victory in the upper bracket so if they get there players going for the main qualifier than renegades have a better than good chance to make it.

Looks like you are new to all this, they play based of nationality... That's why Australians, New Zealanders etc play in Asia. They have 3 Australians --> Asian minor. Or would you rather Oceania gets its own qualifier which would be even easier...
