AVANGAR win CIS Minor after beating QB.Fire
AVANGAR have been crowned champions of the CIS Minor in Bucharest, Romania, following their hard-fought 2-1 victory over Quantum Bellator Fire.
The series kicked off on Quantum Bellator Fire's pick, Inferno, with AVANGAR securing the CT-side pistol. Although Quantum Bellator Fire then won a force-buy, the Kazakhs would not let their foot off the gas, cruising to a 9-1 lead without any response.
It was only then that Quantum Bellator Fire were able to get back to the game: first, with a successful A execution, then with a B play in which Kirill "Boombl4" Mikhailov found four enemies. From that point, they lost a single round to reduce the deficit to 5-10.
With two players pushing through mid, Quantum Bellator Fire picked up a nearly-flawless pistol round. Nevertheless, the Kazakhstan squad won a force-buy in the subsequent round, setting themselves up for a 12-6 lead.
Even though the Russians kept countering AVANGAR's strategies, eventually hitting their 14th round on the board, their opponents would be the ones to secure the victory on Inferno.

AVANGAR's map pick, Mirage, started out with Boombl4 and his teammates getting off to a great start, securing a 6-0 lead before losing their first round as Counter-Terrorists.
The Russian team then broke AVANGAR's economy, and it was only in the 11th round that Dmitry "dimasick" Matvienko and co. began to get through their opponents' defence, winning five straight rounds to bring the gap to 6-9 by half-time.
By bagging the initial four rounds of the second half, AVANGAR grabbed their first lead of the map. Quantum Bellator Fire then turned the game around once again, but closing it out would prove to be a difficult task. Still, after using their last two tactical pauses, Savelii "jmqa" Bragin's team managed to finish it off in the 30th round.

Starting out as Counter-Terrorists on the decider map, Cache, Quantum Bellator Fire tightened up their defence right from the start, with the Russian men only losing the first gun round until the tenth round.
In the next round, AVANGAR were finally able to put the breaks on their opponents' great run, and went on to win the final five rounds of the half. The Kazakhs carried that momentum on to the CT-side, and picked up a seven-round streak to secure a 13-9 lead.
Nevertheless, Nikita "waterfaLLZ" Matveyev's men did not want to throw in the towel and responded by putting up a great fight, equalizing the match in the last round of regular time. Still, it was AVANGAR who prevailed after losing a single round on overtime, locking down the series with a 19-16 win.
