SK Gaming's Marcelo "coldzera" David is HLTV.org's Most Valuable Player (MVP) of EPICENTER 2017.

Heading into the title decider, both teams had three MVP candidates based on their performances - Marcelo "⁠coldzera⁠" David, Gabriel "⁠FalleN⁠" Toledo and Fernando "⁠fer⁠" Alvarenga for SK, Filip "⁠NEO⁠" Kubski, Paweł "⁠byali⁠" Bieliński and Jarosław "⁠pashaBiceps⁠" Jarząbkowski for Virtus.pro.

As the match wore on, it became clear that coldzera and NEO would go toe-to-toe for the award. In the end, the Brazilian claimed the honour after helping SK to win the title - their first in over two months - with an impressive 1.27 Rating, the highest of the series, after also topping the scoreboard in the semi-final encounter against Astralis.

coldzera wins MVP medal

coldzera averaged a 1.35 Rating, the highest of the tournament, and also led in Kills per round (0.90), KDD (+102) and headshots per round (0.47), among other stats.

This is coldzera's seventh MVP medal of his career, the fourth since the start of the year after also scooping the honour at cs_summit, IEM Sydney and DreamHack Open Summer.

Most of GeT_Right's incredible stats were from a moment that CS_GO weren't that popular as today. He had great performances after that, but not that amazing. Olof turned the king when the game became more popular. And Cold is the king when the game is in its most competitive era. It's hard to see him with a game under 1.00 kdr or more deaths than kills. Only when SK get stomped. For me, it's pretty clear that Cold is the greatest in CSGO history, followed by Olof.

actually if pasha had hit that shot VP would've not lost that 4x2 and they'd win the tournament but I strongly believe the MVP should still be cold. I think they've never given the MVP award to anyone other then player with the highest stats of the winner team, which sometimes isn't the player with the highest stats in the whole tournament, but this time it would've been so unfair to not give it to cold that I think they wouldn't be able to avoid doing that for the first time.

I mean, even when SK goes on losing streaks cold always manages to have a positive rating (he has an unbelievably long streak of positive ratings which I don't remember but its almost bullshit). I think we can count in one hand how many negative ratings he has in his career, which is astonishingly formidable - his stats are probably the GOAT for a player even when compared to early 1.6 NEO.

People talk about Boltz, and indeed he was the MVP of Cbble, but Cold was insanely consistent and the undeniable MVP of the entire tournament. It would be insane to give the MVP award to anybody else but Cold with his amazing performance throughout the tournament.

Idk, if only a player on the winning team can get it you would be correct. However Neo had a absolute monster tournament.

Neo was insane, nobody can deny that, but Cold posted 1.35 raiting and +102 k/d difference throughout the entire tournament. It's just such an overwhelming performance.

I know there is a stat for impact frags and he's highly consistent on that stat. Also, Cold is the best because allthough every member on SK is important on their roles... If Cold isn't at the top of his game, SK doesn't win against top teams.

IMO boltz deserved this title. You can't award MvP only looking into rating. Of course rating is a good indicator but if we watch the round-per-round boltz saved SK lots of times. I know the new Rating 2.0 includes clutches and etc but, you know, it doesn't include clutches that are made when your team is about to lose the tournament if you don't win the round. IMO he was the most decisive player for SK and the most valuable aswell.

cold was the best br player for some time at that point, fer was the best, but then keyd went full time on NA so the team was dexterity (taco, lucas1, hen1, cold and 5th) before they went out too fnx got in the team, but that 4 core was the team, and always changing the 5th was the best team in br, and took some maps of keyd everytime

This is what I hate about MVP. It have to go to the winning team players. I whould say that HTLV have to grow a pair and give to the players that have to most IMPACT for there team like pashaBiceps and NEO had on the road to the finale. pashaBiceps won against G2 alone. Had some rounds that was so out of the world that even coldzera whould smile if he see it... And NEO???? NEO was n1. And what does HLTV do? ... Give it ut the sniffing coldzera. This is not LEGIT at all. HLTV have to stop having the MVP-Rule that the winning team have to get it.
