Gravitas member Shaun "hostile" Catron was assaulted when returning from a pub near his assigned home in Hannover. Punched several times and held at gunpoint told to hand over his belongings, Shaun "hostile" Catron found himself in the hospital getting stitched five times.
After getting eliminated at the Extreme Masters III Global Finals, Gravitas went to downtown Hannover to have dinner. The players returned to the assigned households, being split up three different locations in Hannover. Returning, Shaun "hostile" Catron felt like visiting a nearby pub, to get a quick beer. His roommate Thomas "thoMz" Garcia did not follow him to the pub, leaving him all by himself.
After the beer, he turned to his household. On the way home, four people (that he spoke to earlier that evening), jumped in and punched him several times, when trying to give any resistance, one guy pulled a gun and told him to “shut it” and threaten on his life. Handing over his belongings, including wallet, camera and his iPhone, Shaun "hostile" Catron then saw the guys take off.
Shaun "hostile" Catron states:
"Yeah I'd like a responce from ESL as well, as to who the hell they
think they are housing these teams and players in such unsafe areas."
The attack was last night and when getting out of the hospital, Shaun "hostile" Catron spoke to the American scene. He speaks about the attack last night and points out that ESL should have checked out what neighborhood they put players in, as he believes he got put in questionable part of town. ESL did however visit him at the hospital, where a full police report was written. The police got several leads to the attackers, as they used his iPhone to make calls directly after the attack, even to call a cab.
If you want to read more about the attack, then you should drop by WinOut and read the entire interview.
check out the comment in winout.org :

Are you stupid or what ? I don't see any points to laugh from. You're all pathetic, we're not talking about a game, he could have lost his life there.
Hope he's going to be back on his feet soon.

bad luck and i must say maybe a bit of naive behavior? if you know it's not a safe neighborhood, then don't go strolling around by yourself, every kid knows that...

Hostile should take responsibility for his actions. How old is he? 10? No, he is an adult which means 100% responsibility for whatever happens to himself. Going to the pub alone, in a town where you haven't been before, don't know the origin language et.c is very risky. Doesn't matter where you are in the world.

imo it's entirely his fault, but nevertheless, what happened was horrible.

He is talking like this wouldn't happen in America. The chance it happens in america is many times higher, and it's just life so he shouln't blame ESL.

Hostile went out alone at 1AM. That is basically like screming SOMEONE PLEASE ROB ME.
When 4 people try to rob him, he reacted?
"When I tried to give any resistance..."
My parent tought me not to react when robbed when I was 5 years old. If he's being robbed by 4 people and he tries to react, he is definitly asking to be punched/kicked/shot.
If he didn't like the place he was living in, he should have moved. He chose to stay there. He chose to go out alone at 1AM in a place he didn't know. He chose to react against 4 people.
I blame him, not ESL

I can't say its his fault, but why go out by yourself in the night, you know in every country that there are always people with bad intentions.
And he can't blame ESL, I mean he didn't get robbed in his household, sure the area they placed him in but it could happen to anyone, anywhere.
