Wololos win WESG Iberia LAN; finalize EU & CIS Regional Finals team list

The WESG 2017 Iberia LAN saw the top four teams from the online qualifier battle it out in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain, for a place in the European & CIS finals, and a share of the $15,910 prize-pool.

The grand final kicked off on Overpass, Wololos' pick, with Christian "⁠loWel⁠" Garcia Antoran and co. getting off to a quick 6-0 score as Terrorists. Wololos, who had beaten Ramboot 2-0 in the semis to get to the final, then lost four straight rounds, but they would only concede one more to secure a 10-5 half-time lead.

loWel opened up the second half with a quad-kill, paving a way for his team to reach a 13-5 score. gBots then found a lifeline in the second half by bagging the first gun round, but Wololos would not let them find any more breaches, closing out the first map, 16-6.

Starting out as Terrorists on their opponents' map choice, Train, Wololos won yet another pistol. Despite David "⁠Kairi⁠" de Miguel's men following that up with the subsequent anti-ecos and the first gun round, gBots would respond with four of their own to equalize things off.

From that point, however, Wololos were simply too hot to handle, and won every remaining round of the half to grab an 11-4 lead.

And even though gBots then picked up their first pistol of the series, loWel and co. would win the following force-buy to eventually lock down the map, 16-6, and secure $8,712 and a place at WESG EU & CIS Regional Finals.
