IEM Oakland 2017Cloud9, EnVyUs pick up wins at IEM Oakland
Cloud9 have secured their second victory at IEM Oakland after crushing Astralis 16-6, while EnVyUs have picked up their first following a 16-12 win over TheMongolz.
Now playing with Nicolai "device" Reedtz, Astralis kicked things off with a CT pistol win on Train. A third-round buy from Cloud9 fail to bear fruits, but the North Americans look unfazed as their offense finally clicked, which allowed them to restore parity at 5-5.
Cloud9's economic control was simply crushing, so it was no surprise that Astralis were instantly reset after winning their sixth round of the game. The North Americans remained in control and closed out the half with a 1v4 clutch from Tyler "Skadoodle" Latham.
The second half was the polar opposite of the first as the North Americans picked up the first four rounds in convincing fashion. Astralis still tried to get back into the game, but they simply failed to find a way to get through the stern Cloud9 defense as the home team locked down the map, 16-6.

The clash between Envy and The MongolZ began with the former picking up the Terrorist pistol, only to lose the next round thanks to a triple-kill from Enkhtaivan "Machinegun" Lkhagva with a Deagle.
The Frenchmen did not let their opponents take the lead, however, and immediately took control of proceedings. It was only eight rounds into the game that The MongolZ managed to hold Envy off for a second time, but the Frenchmen would keep stringing rounds together, losing only another round before the break thanks to an AWP ace from Temuulen "Zilkenberg" Battulga.
In the second half, The MongolZ secured the initial three rounds as Terrorists after winning the pistol round. After hitting 14 rounds, Envy struggled to deal the finishing blow as TheMongolz still put up a great fight, but Vincent "Happy" Schopenhauer's men would eventually lock down the map at 16-12.
